Since its modern mutation in 1968 (via the Gun Control Act of 1968), and with an infusion of power to it in 1972 by Treasury Department Order No. 120-1, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) has amassed a truly sordid record of gun control.
Although its website somewhat outlandishly claims a history going back to 1789, BATFEs modern roots go to its failed attempts at the enforcement of Prohibition (another stupid idea from the federal government).
Theres hardly anything as pathetic as a bloated government agency, in search of a mission. So the BAT got their hands on guns and became BATF. The E came later.
Follow their criminal and bloody escapades from the Ken Ballew raid debacle in 1971, to the deceit that triggered the Randy Weaver travesty in Idaho, to the incitement of violence in the horror at Waco,Texas, to the despicable acts in the John Lawmaster Raid.
The ATF, and later the BATFE, has now distinguished itself as the least disciplined, least accomplished, least effective, and most unethical law enforcement agency in U.S. law enforcement history.
Along its way towards the immense and international dung pile they are attempting to dig themselves out of now (Operation Fast and Furious aka Project Gun Runner), BATFE has also managed to ensnare a number of truly remarkable, creative, and innovative firearms manufacturers, in needless red tape, inconvenience, and useless, unwarranted prosecution. Len Savage came to know their wrath. This is well documented by our organization, JPFO.

Excerpted to give JPFO the website hits, they deserve them. Wish the NRA would get onboard.
PING.
Might want to get all your bitter clinging friends to go here and suggest that they be closed down entirely, and their budged removed entirely.

Gun control is when you have a perp in your gun sites and you pull the trigger with a steady solid pressure.
What do you call it when the perp carries a gun and a badge from a federal agency? Read the article, if you didn't already. The point is to disarm the BATFE, take away their badges, and their guns. Then prosecute the responsible criminals in that organization.
Oh, and I, personally, would like to see them defunded, and closed down entirely.

You have to go further than that. Take every ATF special agent and inspector, past AND present and FIRE THEM from federal service by taking their badge and gun. Then bar the above mentioned from any federal job. Enter into the FBI database and work with Congress to make a federal law barring any past or present BAT, ATF, BATF, BATFE agent or inspector from any local, muncipal, state, or federal law enforcement.
Lastly, give a blanket Presidental Pardon to any person or persons convicted under any clause of the NFA act of 1934, GCA of 1968, or FOPA of 94 and restore their firearm rights unless drugs or forceful violence was involved.
Work with Congress to repeal gun control laws mentioned above.
“You have to go further than that. Take every ATF special agent and inspector, past AND present and FIRE THEM from federal service...”
After an impartial investigation, trial, and conviction, I’m good with that. There are, however, some folks who protested Fast and Furious, for example, who probably shouldn’t be fired, and at least one of them HAS been, just because he testified for Issa or Grassley, or both. Lets not start a witch hunt, just get the folks who really need to be picking up aluminum cans at the side of the road...

re the cartoon, very nice! Thanks for posting that, I’d not seen it.

Work with Congress to repeal gun control laws mentioned above."
FOPA was passed in '86, and don't forget the gun control executive orders that have been passed. Still I agree 100% with your intent. Further I would work tirelessly for any candidate that had this as part of their platform.
Watering the Tree of Liberty with the blood of tyrants?
Gun control means never having to say I missed you.
I read the article and the link to the story of what Mr Les Savage of Historic Firearms went through with the ATF (I read every letter, long read but worth it)). Simply U-n-b-e-l-i-e-v-a-b-l-e!!. And all under the 'Gun Friendly' Bush Admin to boot.
In one letter to Mr Savage they admit (scold him) that they are above ALL Federal Firearms Law(s) and basically can do anything they want. And!... then *warn him* to stop bugging them.
So it's no wonder the ATF had no problem or worries about Operation Fast & Furious (Gunwalker) and all the other Ops they have going with gun-running arms to criminals.
The ATF is exempt by Federal Legislation!
(this is better than having a; 'CIA, get out of jail free card')
“Watering the Tree of Liberty with the blood of tyrants?”
Right there in the ten ring!

Nuke ‘em until they glow and shoot ‘em in the dark. If they keep moving, shoot ‘em again.
Disarm them first along with some of the other untrustworthy agencies like the Dept. of Education.
Then start some gun control were it really needed at the local level - does every department need and we afford to have a militarized SWAT team?
“Nuke em until they glow and shoot em in the dark. If they keep moving, shoot em again.”
.22LR hollow-points are cheaper than nukes, so just spotlight them and go. Repeat as necessary. No, really, what we need to do is investigate, try, convict, and imprison them. Except those who set this up. They need a treason charge against them, as well as the deprivation of rights under color of authority charges, and all the other illegal stuff. The treason charge is a capital crime, so if we convict them of that, we can sentence them to die by lethal injection. I’m inclined to add ‘firing squad’ to the list of punishments allowable, though. Give ‘em a clue what Brian Terry felt as he died.
