DNC Chair Wasserman Schultz: GOP Acts Like ‘Spoiled Children’ Sitting On Their Hands During Debt Talks

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz appeared with Andrea Mitchell earlier today and expressed her displeasure with Senator Mitch McConnell’s plan to “shove” the debt ceiling decision back on President Obama. Instead she argued Americans want everyone in Washington to sit at the table like grown-ups and work out a deal. And she was just getting started with her maturity-based analogies.

Wasserman Schultz disputed the idea that House Democrats were upset with Obama, and instead targeted the Republicans:

“The President proposed that we deal with this very big problem in a big way. And that Democrats should put all of our sacred cows on the table. We demonstrated that we’re willing to put all our sacred cows on the table. And the Republicans are simply not willing to do anything but sit on their hands, and cross their arms like spoiled children almost. That’s just not responsible.”

But let's have a number - how much are Democrats willing to cut, and from where? And let's have it in a written proposal (you know, what we used to call a "budget" before Democrats stopped producing those things). All we have now is empty talk, and even then, the "cuts" being discussed wouldn't even get the budget down to the bloated condition in was in way, WAY back in... 2008.
