Skip to comments. It is in America that Rupert Murdoch faces ruin

The New York Times has put several journalists on producing acres of newsprint detailing the impact of the story on British politics, on News Corp's stock price, on London police...
No doubt the NYT is motivated by its ever-earnest search for all the news thats fit to print. But there are other things going on here, too.
Murdoch is more than just another proprietor: hes a bitter enemy. He owns the Wall Street Journal, the NYTs main upmarket rival. He owns the New York Post, its main downmarket rival.
More to the point, Murdoch owns Fox News, the enormously profitable television station which is the NYTs main ideological rival.
For those Daily Telegraph readers who dont follow these things, let me draw an analogy: Fox News is to American mainstream media what the Sun is to the British mainstream media. Its louder, more unreliable, sometimes more entertaining and very much more Right-wing. Fox is the spiritual home of the Tea Party movement it employs Sarah Palin and is deeply unpopular among the people who read and write for the NYT.
Trouble for Mr Murdoch is good news for the American liberal establishment, in other words and the liberal establishment is beginning to scent blood.

Hard to recognize the actual Fox News in all that.
It's not much like a British tabloid -- no more than its competition in cable news -- and with all the complaining about O'Reilly and Wallace and Shepherd Smith it's hard to see it as a reliable "spiritual home" for the Tea Party.
It is time for Mr.Murdoch to take off the gloves and put on brass knuckles. It is time to get off the mattresses and take it to the streets.
Mr.Murdoch - UNLEASH THE TRUTH OF OBAMA NOW!
Any newsman worth his ink really couldn’t expect better timing than now.
Fox Radio News Tampa just reported that the Unemployment rate is GREAT NEWS!
You’ve got that right. The presstitutes talk about nepotism and cronyism in the Murdoch corporation. Sounds just like the democrat party and the head of their party hiring, what, 30 tzars to circomvent the elected and supreme court with the muslim’s wishes?
It’s a no-brainer that the socialists and communists of the world would go after anything conservative. They have the muslim/communist to give them strength they never had before.
It’s unlikely Fox News will go off the air. The most that would happen is that Murdoch would be forced to get rid of Fox News by merging it with NPR, Al Gore’s “Current”, the Oprah Network or perhaps sell it to Soros or a Michael Moore.
Please calm down. Mr. Murdoch is not a warrior for conservatism. He’s a smart and ruthless businessman who’s on to a good thing. Money and power are what motivate him.
Now that Murdoch has proven that money’s to be made from the tea party segment of viewers, that segment will continue to be served its daily ration of outrage and talking points, regardless of what happens to Murdoch.
This is assuming two things:
1. Murdoch has any dirt on Obama to begin with. I’d imagine he’d have already come out with it by now if he did.
2. This is, in fact, the best time to leak it. Which is false. It isn’t that bad *yet*. Until Murdoch’s staring down a Congressional panel, anything he may have capable of bringing down a presidency is best kept to himself. The time to bust out one’s “secret weapon” isn’t when the fight starts, its when one of you is already on the ropes—either as a killing blow or a last-ditch effort to save one’s own skin.
Absolutely. This is so sad and unfair. I have no idea if Murdock is a good guy or ethical, but it is glaringly obvious the biggest crook and evildoer is Spooky Dude Soros, and he slides through all these things. Mandy every media outlet in the “free” world and every democrat politician and prosecutor including the incumbent President and AG, are all howling after Murdock’s hide. Why oh why? Did he not know he had a target on his back?
He doesn’t have to be “a warrior for conservatism”; he just has to be what he’s always been - a newsman with a factual story.
Since you don’t know, here’s the information:
“The Northeast Intelligence Network and Canada Free Press are in possession of extremely sensitive investigative documents, including a stunning written admission by a nationally known talk show host stating that he was threatened with his career or worse - should he talk about the issue of Barack Hussein Obamas birth records to a national audience. This document was obtained on December 10, 2008, and provides explicit detail of a gag order imposed on this host before and immediately following the national election last November.”
“After receiving and authenticating the document, US based veteran private investigator Douglas J. Hagmann opened a full scale investigation into the media blackout, with specific emphasis on tracing the blackout origins to those issuing them. This investigation was conducted in conjunction with Judi McLeod, founding editor of Canada Free Press and Brian Thompson, CFP Information Technology chief following a meeting near Toronto, Ontario last December. At that meeting, it was decided to keep the existence of the document secret until additional evidence could be obtained.”
“...after an extensive eight month investigation, the Northeast Intelligence Network and Canada Free Press are breaking their silence and revealing explosive information about a widespread cover-up that began at the earliest stages of the Obama presidential campaign. The cover-up traces back to some of the most powerful and influential people in the U.S. and continues today...”
“As noted above, we are in possession of a written account by a well known national talk show host who details how he was prohibited to discuss the controversy of Barack Hussein Obamas eligibility as president of the United States. This signed document cites exact dates and times when he was forbidden to discuss any aspect of the birth certificate controversy, and includes direct references to the individuals responsible for such prohibitions. Further, his statement identifies the individuals who originated the orders and their positions, and confirms that failure to adhere to the order would likely end his career in that industry. He also confirms that other, less specific but more menacing threats were implied during conversations with those making the subject off limits.”
Whether you agree or disagree with the legitimacy issue of Obama’s birth certificate is beyond the point: there is a news story here and it involves the First Amendment. (This ‘person’ mentioned above may be Glenn Beck, may be Rush Limbaugh. Either way the lame-stream media hasn’t said anything about it.)
Media source have been ordered to shut up, or suffer consequences.
I believe NOW, while Obama is being defied by Republicans in Congress and the Fast & Furious scandal is escalating day-by-day, this is as good an opportunity for Murdoch to be what he has always been, a fearless newsman.
Get the news out about how Obama is a tyrant muzzling radio, TV, and print media.
It’s simple and it is time: a newsman gets the “news” out.
I should have included you when I responded to Romulus. See my post at #10; I’m interested in what you have to say, though I disagree about when is the right time to start telling the truth.
When a man's multi-billion $ fortune depends on remaining in any governemnt's good graces, don't expect him to sacrifice it on the altar of journalism. That's not how the world works.
Notice that Murdoch did nothing with your sensational report. As did Rush/Glenn Beck/whoever. Not a lot of fearless journalism going on here when there's that much money on the table. That's why we have blogs and forums and small-fry operators. Along with computing power, news gathering and dissemination also is decentralized and distributed now. A good thing.
a fearless newsman.
Rupert Murdoch intends to live and die in great comfort, power, and security. Telling stories is a means to that end, whether they be financial stories in the WSJ, or leering headlines plastered next to page 3 girls in the Sun. It's all about the money and power, tout court.
Murdoch is more than just another proprietor: heâs a bitter enemy. He owns the Wall Street Journal, the NYTâs main upmarket rival. He owns the New York Post, its main downmarket rival. More to the point, Murdoch owns Fox News, the enormously profitable television station...
Who will the Saudis have now to buy media influence when Murdoch goes down?
