Boehner: 'Too many people' in the room (Then leave and take all the GOP with you)
Politico ^ | 7/15/2011 | Jennifer Epstein

There are “too many people” in the room to work out a deal to raise the debt ceiling, House Speaker John Boehner complained on Thursday night as negotiations between President Barack Obama and congressional Republicans stay stuck in a stalemate.

“Whatever gets suggested, it gets debated to no end,” the Ohio Republican said on Fox News’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”

“The room’s too big. You know, too many people are in there trying to negotiate what is a very difficult — could be and will be a very difficult agreement. And there’s just too many people in there pouring cold water on virtually every idea that gets thrown on the table.”

The negotiations, Boehner said, have left the president “frustrated” and “the rest of us are frustrated, too.”

“I’ve been pushing the president all year to address this in a big way,” he said. “I don’t want to do some half-hearted thing. I don’t want to do some half-baked gimmick. We’ve got a problem. The American people sent us here to solve the problem. So why don’t we do what we’re supposed to do, solve the problem?”

"all the GOP?"

That's a slip.

So revealing.

NO TAXATION WITHOUT TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THE ROOM . . .

Or something like that.

If you're arguing about process, the goal is rarely achieved.

It's official: This administration is the least competent since....Fillmore?

I suspect the addition of Pelousi has accelerated this negotiation from very difficult to IMPOSSIBLE. I knew it would get worse when she started demanding a ‘seat at the table’.

Boehner should not worry about ‘how many’ people are in the room, and instead worry about letting a ‘Minority Leader’ taking over the GOP agenda.

The proper room is the floor of the House with 435 people.

They should just dismiss Obama and deal directly with Valerie Jarrett. Eliminate the middle man.

That’s exactly right. I say the others better stay and make sure Boner doesn’t give away the farm.

The negotiations, Boehner said, have left the president “frustrated” and “the rest of us are frustrated, too.”

Oh my! To think Dear Leader is "frustrated" simply will not do, will it, you pusilanimous, RINO?

Hey Bone-Er, new flash: THAT IS YOUR JOB, DIMWIT!!!

Im sure I'm not alone is thinking this is going to end very badly and we are going to take it in the shorts again.

This wuss, Weeper of the House, NEVER even, attacked the Community Agitator when he had the opportunity when he was asked about O'Bozzo's threat that Seniors/Military retirees might not get their checks.

He simply mumbled something and avoided challenging the Messiah.

These Republi-Tards (after decades) STILL don't know how to fight like the Rats do and are sooooo afraid of their own shadows (and being villified by the Lame Stream Media...which ain't ever gonna change) that we stand 0 chance of ever reversing all of the damage the Neo-Commie Fascist has wrought, even, if we were to take control of the Senate and win the WH in 2012.

I am so angry and frustrated, that (ala Beck) blood is shooting from my eyes!

Is it too early to hit the bottle? lol

Time for a 2nd Party. We do not need a 3rd Party. We need a 2nd Party.

This whole thing is really insane. Why are they even negotiating?

The house should simply pass a bill raising the debt limit for one month with dollar for dollar spending cuts. The bill should also spell out how spending will be prioritized in any circumstance. Send it to the senate and let Reid and Obama be responsible for any fallout.

"The American people sent us here to solve the problem. So why don’t we do what we’re supposed to do, solve the problem?”

An excellent question, Mr. Boehner, and one which, I suspect, you are not prepared to answer.

The problem will be solved when the number of Democrats + Republicans in the House is <218, or when the 82nd Airborne retakes the capital.

“I knew it would get worse when she started demanding a ‘seat at the table’.”

She and the other windbags are part of Obama’s stalling game.

What Boehner really means is there’s too many people in the room keeping an eye on him so he can’t cave in the way he usually does.
