Perry had the courage to initiate this, the rest, -- with the two exceptions -- don't even have the courage to attend.
They’ll be praying for rain, and the country.
I can see how those things might be objectionable to some. ;-)

I dont know any governors, but I do know most average people would need longer to plan a trip to Texas than the time between now and August 6th. I dont think this is as much a courage issue as a much has a logistics issue. Also, this event benefits Perry, but not necessarily the other attendees. Politicians like to be center stage, not stage right. Were I concerned, Id still be willing to grant some latitude to those who turned down the offer. Do we know how many sent Lt. Governors or other officials?
Moderate--code word for left leaning RINOs. That's all it is.
Our previous Governor here in the mitten spent a crazy amount of taxpayer money on traveling. I have no problem with our current Governor staying within state lines. We can pray here at home, you know.
That's a 100% increase, as yesterday I'd read only Brownback had RSVP his acceptance.
But he said he doubts Perry will have trouble filling the venue, which seats 71,500, with religious supporters.
Not sure where this guy is getting his info but that isn’t the plans as I read them. Instead they are preparing for around 10,000 with the ability to expand the seating configuration if needed.

More than 6,000 people have registered on its website, TheReponseUSA.com, http://theresponseusa.com/ ,and organizers expect another rush after they announce the lineup for the seven-hour-long event, said Eric Bearse, spokesman for The Response. Reliant Stadium will be configured to hold 10,000, but seating can be adjusted if more people RSVP.

I’m all for prayer.
A public prayer meeting for the political benefit of a politician who is soft on the practice of killing babies, and who thinks it’s okay to support pro-abortion, pro-homosexual politicians like Rudy Giuliani? Not so much.
Besides, you have to be crazy to go to Houston the first week in August!
Did Slick Rick’s invite his crony, whom he supported for the Presidency in the last election, pro-abortion Rudy Giuiani? Did 3x-married, make-believe transvestite Rudy, agree to attend?
I just emailed Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia urging him to attend. This country certainly needs prayer.
This is so small a showing from rock ribbed Republicans that I too think these folks are largely too busied out to stop for this. BTW, I wonder if Sarah Palin, even though not a governor now, is showing.
“It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favors.” ....President George Washington
In before the Perry-hate thread-spammers...
Good for Jindal and Brownback!
I’m all for prayer, public and private, and our political leaders need to do a lot of it.
That being said Rick Perry’s been dancing around the country for the last month practically begging people to ask him to run for President.
This stinks.
