“The Undefeated” Roars to Big Opening Day… Theaters Sell Out From Atlanta to Orange County
Gateway Pundit ^ | July15,2011 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 07/16/2011 2:09:54 PM PDT by Hojczyk

There are several reports that the audiences are standing and cheering in the theaters.

Conservatives 4 Palin reported:

Here’s a nice round-up of The Undefeated tweets put together by Josh Painter over at Texans for Sarah Palin.

Theater manager in Phoenix reports “Only Harry Potter beating ‘The Undefeated’…

Atlanta, GA ‘The Undefeated’ is Number 1 in theater out performering ‘Transformers’…

4pm showing of ‘The Undefeated’ ends with five minute standing ovation in Atlanta!

Atlanta – 7pm showing of ‘The Undefeated’ sold out 3 hours in advance!

“The #Undefeated” 4pm showing in #OrangeCounty is packed full except for the “stiff neck seats” that nobody wants ever.

The Undefeated is Number 1 in #Atlanta #GA out performing Transformers

AMC Ahwatukee theatre mgr told me they sold so many tickets for #Undefeated that they had to move it to a bigger screen!

Undefeated sold out 7:10 and 10:04 showings in Kennesaw. #1 movie in this theater tonight!

People in the theater CHEERED when they saw Palin at the tea party rally.

Kenesaw GA 3 showings sold out!!

PalinUndefeated attitude is spreading like wild fire. Watch the Dems start eating themselves

How come nobody in the MSM is RTing that @PalinUndefeated is selling out and getting standing Os?! Aren’t they “objective” RTers?!?

Full House at Universal Cineplex Orlando, FL for ‘The Undefeated’!

MSM – Where are the “empty theaters” now?

just got back from the movie. My 3 skeptics will now be a part of Sarah’s Army.

People around me are saying, “WOW” about the frivolous ethics complaints. They didn’t know.

Houston showing is almost full except for the lower 2 rows.

Audience applauding Sarah’s inaugural address in #Undefeated in Kennesaw!

This is very encouraging news but not really unexpected. Sarah Palin is a force to be reckoned with - and for good reason. All the sniping from the left (and some, unfortunately, from the establishment GOP) hasn’t really dimmed her luster with conservatives and many independents, despite the MSM desperately trying to convince us that Sarah Palin is a ‘quitter’, a loser, non-starter, ‘toxic’, blah, blah, blah. If a documentary film can get this kind of turn-out, I can only imagine what Sarah Palin announcing her campaign for president would generate. I hope I find out, soon.

But....but...but you don’t understand; MSNBC and most newspapers say she can’t win if she runs for President; she’s too unpopular.

Yes, that was the 12:01AM show..really, who goes to a midnight screening of a documentary anyway..the obama leftwing media only mentioned that to make the film look bad because its such a huge success

I remember when I went to Life is Beautiful that we were the ONLY people in the theatre. Just an odd thing for some reason..time of day, something else going on, who knows? It certainly had nothing to do with the movie or with politics.

You couldn’t pay me to go to a midnight screening of anything, not in this city..if I want to see a movie I see it during the day. I know many people love to be the 1st ones to see movies but I guess I’m just not one of those people

I can’t find any AMC theatre in or near Richmond VA. The closest AMC theatre is 2-3 hours away. I am so disappointed. I bought an AMC gift card for my son just so he could go see this movie also. Now the card is worthless, and I can’t even find a way to get a refund. But the worst part is that Sarah’s movie won’t show around here. The area sure could use her movie. What a bummer.

We used to do midnights in high school and college. Even went to a few Rocky Horror midnight showings, which is always hilarious. Can’t help but believe this was done purposely for negative press. The target audience for this film is sleeping at midnight, and (mostly) working during the day. That’s why the shows from 5-10pm have been selling out.

I can understand people seeing the midnight screening of Harry Potter since that is a huge production and people have been waiting a year for the conclusion..but going at midnight to see a documentary, no one would do that..who knows if it was done on purpose or not, but bottom line is this film is a HUGE success and the media can suck on that

I heard it was a midnight screening that was not announced until late that evening. Apparently the manager thought he could snag a few customers since the theater was packed on the earlier shows.

Round these parts midnight movies are often strange cult classics like Heavy Metal,The Rocky Horror Picture Show,Eraserhaed and Pink Flamingos.
Can't imagine the average midnight movie goer having ANY interest in watching a movie about a Christian Conservative leader.

There was one news report, I can’t remember from where or what CA city but it reported that it showed to an empty theater.

I found a post on some leftist blog stating that the Orange county theater was empty for the Palin documentary. We all know some guy posting on a leftist blog wouldn't lie.

I expect that if the MSM covers the Palin documentary at all, it will only mention theaters where it didn't draw a big audience. The theaters where it does well will be ignored or dismissed because the 'Harry Potter' film drew bigger audiences, as if documentaries ever beat wildly popular franchise fantasy films.

In short, no matter how well 'The Undefeated' does, in the MSM, the fix is in and it will be termed a 'flop'. Remember, the leftmedia loathes, fears and despises Sarah Palin and will never give her anything close to a fair shake.

It is nice to have something to look forward to seeing at the theater.
With Governor Sarah Palin writing books, doing TV shows, appearances, and now the Movie/CD, she is finessing the fund raising challenge. She has her own seed money and is not beholden to the normal fat cats, unions, and other noxious creatures of the political world.

That was an unadvertised midnight showing before any of the promoted shows were aired. Who knew? Oddly enough, a journolist made the point of catching that midnight show and reported. Funny how his article was then replicated across the liberal media.

In LA, that would be East LA for likely zero attendance and, in Orange County, Santa Ana and Laguna Beach would be expected near zero attendance. The reason? Think latinos and gays...

There will be DVD’s, pay per view, and WalMart was named as a distributor. There may also be many more theaters if the first 10 response limited release indicates it is viable. I donated $100 to SarahPAC and will get a DVD through them when it’s ready.

As I stated on another thread: in CO they only published a 7:15 show which, yes was sold out. When in fact they also ran a 4:20 show, guess what? No one showed.

You can’t expect people to attend a showing that is unpublished. MSM please correct yourselves.

The "empty theater" showing was at 12:01 A. M.!! And it was playing next to Harry Potter.

That said, if you're only going to release a film nationally to ten theaters, you damn well better ensure that they are packed, because at that rate, it would take you a decade to get back your $1m production and $1m P&A budget. What was "Atlas Shrugged," in 600 or so?

“In short, no matter how well ‘The Undefeated’ does, in the MSM, the fix is in and it will be termed a ‘flop’”

Since the advent of computerized ticket sales and the internet, it’s impossible to lie about box office numbers as studios used to do.

If “The Undefeated” does well, there will be no way to disguise its success. AMC, the theater chain showing the film, is a publicly traded company — they can’t lie about ticket sales w/o getting in big trouble. And why should they? They’re in it to make money.

And the distributor will broadcast the returns far and wide if the film does well.

The little stunt the lefty MSM pulled in Orange County — gloating over an empty screening at 12:01 a.m. — will only work once.

They lie no matter what. Sold Out is pretty hard to refute but they will anyway and her book tour was above and beyond. I’m so not interested in what they left says - they lie - even w/lies of omission - that’s who they are.

In fact, this is the reason for the movie to being with - their LIES!

“The Undefeated” will add theaters if it does well in its limited release.

AMC is the second largest theater chain. If “The Undefeated” is a hit, they’ll have “The Undefeated” on hundreds more screens overnight.
