Prince Charles upset Will and Kate 'overshadowing' other royals
QMI Agency ^ | Saturday, July 16, 2011

While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wowed crowds and made international headlines as they toured Canada and made a quick stop in the U.S. earlier this month, sources say Prince Charles is not happy with the coverage.

The Sunday Mirror reports Charles is worried the media reports of his son and daughter-in-law, Will and Kate, will overshadow good work being done by other royals, such as himself.

Sources close to the 62-year-old heir to the throne said he was happy the royal couple was welcomed in Canada, but he was concerned about the coverage of their stops.

One source said Charles is now looking at a makeover to attract more fans.

Royal author Phil Dampier told the newspaper Charles likely feels "sidelined" by his son.

He said as soon as William got married, "People would be less interested in what (Charles) has to say on issues such as the environment and architecture if, on the same day, Kate is wearing a new dress."

The paper also reported there are concerns by government officials the young couple could also overshadow the Queen's Diamond Jubilee next year.

Kinda sad when a man is jealous of his son. Guess that comes form a life spent waiting for your dear old mum to die.

May Elizabeth outlive her first born son, so we won't have to see his snooty face with the crown on his head.

Either of his sons would be preferable to him.

Oh, Gosh, could it be that Daddy is upset that his son married someone prettier than HIS bride, Diana?

I admit, it was tough to do, but Kate IS prettier than Diana! :)

Maybe ‘mum’ knows that.

Not only prettier, but a hell of a lot more grounded with common sense; or so it appears to be at this point. Let’s hope it continues.

Note to Charles: Your son and his bride just might save the monarchy so you can have the throne.

Every time people see Charles they are reminded of how he dealt treacherously with the wife of his youth. Has Charles ever repented?

Ahh, but Kate knows much more about what dress to wear and how to wear it than pop-in-law will ever know about the environment or architecture.

“Sources say ....”

Tax-chick says, “Piffle.” Yes, Prince Charles is a goofball, but I’m not going to waste a minute believing whatever “sources” project on him.

Of course, if there are too many photos of Kate’s bare bum, Queen Elizabeth may offer a formal “Tsk, tsk.”

What Charles has to say about the environment and architecture is total rubbish and the people are glad to see at least some of the royals are somewhat normal and not prone to being total idiots.

Not to be cruel, but I believe that the expression is:
“The Royal Princesses is dead. Long live the Royal Princess!”

Charlie, you and Diana had your long running “moment of glory”. Let the kids have theirs. Hopefully, Will is smart though and disciplined enough that he doesn’t have a “Camilla” in the closet.

Charles would likely be in the running for King if he hadn’t treated Diana the way he did. If Diana was still alive and sill married to Charles, Charles’ entire picture would be much brighter. God will not be mocked, Charles.

Don’t you mean his preferred Camilla? Diana was a pretty woman and luckily Will and Harry inherited more of her looks. And I still think Harry might be James Hewitt’s son, but you know we’ll never learn of that.

This is the same junk he pulled with Diana. I’m old enough to remember his jealousy of her - especially when she was still a young girl and getting all the attention on foreign trips.

Pauvre chien noir.

Or to put it in common English terms: Tough titty, Chucky!

The royal tour has been the best, most positive recognition that the House of Windsor has gotten in decades. William and Kate have earned the respect and admiration of many Canadians.

Now we just have to get Charles out of the line of succession. The best thing that he can do for the monarchy would be an anticipatory abdication so that William becomes next in line.

Diana was really good in getting her hands dirty with charity work. She seemed quite genuine and good with that. She had horrible problems with the rejection from Charles an the troubles with the marriage when it was always Camilla and suffered depression. But Diana really set the standard with her approachability and seeking to have her sons more grounded with the real world. Kate carries herself well. I’m sure she’s modelled herself on Diana.
