The Intrade prediction market is right more often than not. Let's see how this number changes after the budget debate.

It won’t matter much if they’re RINOS.

The only way we would truly control the senate is to capture around 70 seats, 60 seats to block any democrat filibusters and 10 to offset any RINO’s who might decide to vote with the democrats on any given issue.

The Republicans to control the Senate after 2012 Congressional Elections

Question is, will there be enough conservatives to make a difference?

The dems have more seats to defend this time around. The economy is not going their way either.

If we can seed the Senate with a few more good conservatives, maybe some of the rinos will get some gonads. They seem to be "go along to get along" types more than anything, so a strong conservative leadership should be able to guide them back to the light.

I’m very confident this is correct.
But I’m equally confident we won’t get a veto-proof margin.
So getting rid of Baraq is really important.

OK I don’t remember where I got this thought but isn’t some of the stimulus money due to be “shovel ready” in 2012 so that the economy will look better then it does now...anyone remember that?

The economy IS terrible. The media continues to play up false positives. Obama’s approval is at 42% according to Gallop, who over samples liberals by ten to twenty percent. Gotta believe Obama’s real number is much lower.

He’s still got eighty percent of the media. Don’t know if they can continue to lie for another year and a half. Gotta bet they will do everything to reelect him.

Hopefully the American people will see through the propaganda.

That is the only hope, and that means most of the Americans collecting government checks must vote for the Nation and not for themselves.

"The Republicans to control the Senate after 2012 Congressional Elections..."

Well, that sounds great and all but unless they are Conservative then it doesn't much matter... but if I had to choose between winning tghe White House or having control of congress I would much rather have congress in the hands of Conservatives...

Don't be too sure they’ll be the same republicans.

Hopefully you are right. We'll know after the primaries, if the electorate overwhelmingly endorses TEA party candidates over establishment RINOs, it's gonna be a smokin' general.

However if the RINOs easily push aside the conservative primary challengers, then the voters "anybody but a Democrat" penchant will put in place the equivalent of eunuch DemoRats, liberal progressive Republicans, without stones or spine, and they will be as bad as the Marxist Rats.

I believe a realistic comparison of before Obama and after Obama should be normalized to what the starting base was. From my take from the graph before Obama (blue) to after Obama (red) Obama has been increasing the public debt about 2x +or- faster as in previous years.

I saw a political cartoon awhile back. The first panel was titled "When Democrats are in charge" and showed a bunch of pigs feeding at a trough.

The second panel was titled "When Republicans are in charge" and showed a bunch of pigs feeding at a trough. Just different pigs this time.

Lots of truth in that cartoon.

The odds are promising, but it won’t happen by itself. In addition, Indiana Freepers need to oust Richard Lugar in the primary.

Even if what YOU think are “RINOS” take power it will make a huge difference. Look at the last two Supreme Court Justices and you cannot tell me it will not make a difference and keep a straight face or any integrity.

I don’t think it’s possible. We have 20 coastal states with guaranteed demo or rino senate seats. That’s 40 against us right there. Plus, there are plenty of other states that are at least competitive for left-leaning candidates. The senate will always be the biggest problem (besides the judiciary, of course) to going back to a limited, constitutional federal government.

You’re kidding, right? It has done little but lie or hide the truth for decades.

Lying for another year and a half will not cause it to increase its heart rate at all.

While the American people are obviously dumb as doorposts and cannot be counted on at all this guy is totally incompetent.

And it looks like there will be a lot more state and local govt employee layoffs in 012.
Even Baraq’s econ czar Goolsbee predicts 8.2% unemployment by election day and you know he’s hopelessly optimistic.

It’s not enough to control the Senate. We need at least 70 senators. You don’t think Snowe and Collins are going to vote for anything useful do you?

Plus there are a few more wobbly ones. McCain will do nothing useful on immigration, for instance. 70 is the bare minimum.

Otherwise, all we can do is stall the progres of “progress”. Which isn’t a bad thing, but it could be much better.

It is, indeed. I doubt we can do it. But maybe, just maybe, getting rid of the pseudo-Christian, black racist, pro-Islam, constitutionally ineligible, America hating, fraud in the White House, and gaining a majority in the Senate, and hopefully increasing our majority in the House, will demoralize the brain-dead bigots that comprise the Democratic party leadership enough so that we can do some good. Maybe.

The thing is, if the Tea party guy loses to a RINO, well, he’s still not a Democrat.

I once voted for the Communist on the ticket because he was the only guy running against the Democrat. No Republican to vote for.

Almost, almost I say, any RINO beats any Democrat. At least with the RINO, they can’t claim they have a mandate. And maybe the RINO can be pressured.

Not that I intend to vote for one in the primaries. I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to the Bachmann or Cain. I’m keeping my option open though so I’ll know who to vote for, or more likely against, if they have both dropped out by the time it gets to my state.
