Labour leader urges for new media ownership rules saying News Corporation chief has too much power in the UK.
( Ed Miliband) has demanded the breakup of Rupert Murdoch's UK media empire in a dramatic intervention in the row over phone hacking.
n an exclusive interview with the Observer, the Labour leader calls for cross-party agreement on new media ownership laws that would cut Murdoch's current market share, arguing that he has "too much power over British public life".
Miliband says that the abandonment by News International of its bid for BSkyB, the resignation of its chief executive, Rebekah Brooks, and the closure of the News of the World are insufficient to restore trust and reassure the public.
The Labour leader argues that current media ownership rules are outdated, describing them as "analogue rules for a digital age" that do not take into account the advent of mass digital and satellite broadcasting.

Typical Leftist comment. On the other hand, I don’t much care what happens to Murdoch, let the market decide. It might be really healthy for example, if Fox News were spun off as a separate company. I don’t think Rush would need NFL approval to invest in such a deal, for example, or an investment bank could probably buy it, take it public in a years or two and double it’s money.

Leftist media outlets have stolen information, leaked and manipulated data for years and nothing ever happens to them as a whole.
The News of the World was an old-line tabloid that did what reporters always used to do...in something that was not of national security interest, btw, unlike all the things leaked in the Guardian and the New York Times...and went out looking for personal interest scoops in a very uncontrolled area.
I knew somebody who had worked as a photographer for the NY Daily News back in the 1950s. This was still a time when a reporter would go up to the door of some woman whose husband had just been killed in a mob rub-out or was a police officer killed in the line of duty that day and ask, “Are you the Widow So-and-So?” This would be the first moment she had even heard of the killing and found out that her husband was dead, and it was his job to take a picture as she screamed and fainted on the doorstep.

Even some of the few excellent products they may produce on occasion contains that bit of propaganda and conditioning which tries to force on the masses the acceptance of the Big Lie.
Mass media is all about marketing ideas and conditioning people into being consumers —not only of products, but of worldview. Be very careful of what ideas your children are picking up. Hollywood uses sophisticated psychology to make people believe good is evil and what you have to buy to be “happy”. Media is designing your precious children into becoming mindless apes who value emotions only, and have no intellectual knowledge and are devoid of knowledge of history so there is no way to be rational.
Marxism is irrational and that is why they created Political Correctness—to destroy debate of ideas...so they can namecall and end the Truth which proves their ideology stinks and never works and makes slaves of all.
Yes, they want to silence Murdoch—he goes off of the reservation way too often but they have been trying to destroy him for decades...like Rush....like Beck...like Savage....anyone who has even a modicum of truth....cuz Truth usually makes sense and people see through the Big Lie and the Matrix that they have set up this last one hundred years! They fear Truth and knowledge.
From everything I’ve seen the use of term “phone hacking” is deceptive at best. It sounds like they simply tried a couple of common factory installed voice mail codes. (always set up your own phone) From watching some of the parliamentary hearings, I got the impression that such behavior is very common among british media.
I do fault these reporters for erasing the voicemails to make room for more.
I would be willing to bet the farm that soros is involved in this. I’ve thought so from the beginning. This would be easy peasy for soros.
