SALT LAKE CITY — Former Utah Gov. Mike Leavitt, a top supporter and adviser of Republican White House hopeful Mitt Romney, strenuously backed the core piece of President Barack Obama’s health-care law and urged the states to move forward together in adopting health insurance exchanges.

Speaking to a bipartisan group of governors at the National Governors Association, the former Republican governor who served as secretary of health and human services in the Bush administration, called the exchanges where individuals and small businesses can purchase health plans “a very practical solution to a problem that needs to be solved.”

Yea, we already knew that. Obama said his health care bill was based on RomneyCare.

Brings to mind many, many years ago when I was a kid at the baseball park and the crowd yelled:

“Throw ‘da bums out!”

(the problem of access to health insurance for individuals and small businesses will not disappear if a Republican president wins repeal.)
They keep switching the definition of the problem. They used the few million uninsured to push a one-size fits all scheme on EVERYONE.

(“This is a profoundly important time for the states,” said Mr. Leavitt. “States need to lead.”)
...this is right after he tells them to basically shut up and do what the federal government told them to do! I guess it all depends on what “lead” means...apparently it sometimes means “obey blindly”!

Amazing that this political Ted Bundy is still in the news, much less a serious contender in the primary.

I admit I know nothing about how the budget is managed, but if the government doesn’t have money to pay out Social Security, then how is the goverment going to pay for everyone’s healthcare?

Me neither. What's the point if he espouses the doctrines of the so-called "other party".

In the absence of Sarah Palin, I see two political parties. The Republcrat Party, and the rest of us.

The GOP loves Obamacare. Now all health care problems can be blamed on the Democrats.

Romney will lose if he gets the nomination. He doesn’t even have “the lesser of two evils” going for him by enough to matter. He won’t dismantle Obama’s Big Government, and he would make it harder for us to dismantle the excesses of these terrible years.

Mittens is gonna run as a dimocrat and challenge the O'boy in the primaries. That'll make for a real contest considering their views are so similar.

To all those who are critical of conservatives not willing to vote for Romney, I say, then we all better get behind a conservative, or its Obama II.

Conservatism wins every time its tried.

Romney is voting for McCain II who has a little less craziness and a little more planning. But both are closet libs, who only where conservative suits when they think the unwashed masses can be duped.

I agree that there is only one organized party in this country, with two subsidiaries, Republicans and Democrats. Both march to the beat of government control and spending, but one is in the fast lane and one is in the truck lane.

This is were I turn off.

Hah! You beat me to it, as I was thinking the same thing! Mitts may be more fiscally oriented and could possibly win the Primary. ....Then, a Conservative from the Pubby side could beat him like a drum.
