Is Jesse Ventura a member of your Independent party?

Was that last bit an open borders program where workers can just get an ID card and cross the border and work, or was it a "guest worker" program that Perry referred to in other speeches?

I don't know. Why don't you give me the examples of the other speeches, with links and then we can compare his comments.

I thought the defense of this country was THE job of the Commander in Chief and the government of the United States.

Explain how this is not so.

National defense is not the sole reason why we vote for a President or members of Congress. If it was, we'd be electing generals and admirals to Congress and the White House.

Those other things that Rick Perry set aside to support Giuliani, those things matter a great deal. Things like being a Christian, being pro-life, being strong on gun rights. Those things matter a great deal to a lot of us. They aren't some kind of belief you temporarily set aside because your buddy is running for the Presidency.

In a press conference today, Rick Perry said: “I don’t ever get confused. I am a man of faith. I don’t make any apologies about my faithfulness and the fact of the matter is I think anyone who goes through life without having that foundation of faith, you know I don’t know how they do it. I couldn’t. So the idea do I look for signs and do I look for good scripture that tells me how to live my life? Absolutely, I do that.”

A man of faith does not campaign for somebody like Rudy Giuliani.

There is a reason why there is a banner at the top of FR that says "Welcome to Free Republic, America's exclusive site for God, Family, Country, Life & Liberty conservatives!"

There was also a reason why Giuliani supporters were given the boot. Giuliani might throw together a pretty speech about national defense, but he does not support God and Family or Life and Liberty.

What are you talking about? Of course I supported Alan Keyes. You think I would vote for George Soros-financed John Judas McCain, the guy who blocked every bit of pro-life, pro-family legislation in the Senate for more than a decade, and whose political operations have always been geared towards electing as many pro-abort, pro-homosexual Republicans as possible?

It's just that, to any reasonable person, for someone to hold such strong feelings, and who isn't shy about expressing them, but then demures on tossing out a candidate they'd support, well.....it's just fishy.

If I didn't hold strong feelings, I wouldn't be a conservative. If I could predict the future and knew who was going to enter the GOP race in the next six months, I'd be out buying lottery tickets instead of chatting with you.

Now that wasn't so hard, was it? You just should have come forward and told me and saved all that dancing around. You'd think you were ashamed or something.

How is asking you to put forth a candidate (just name someone you’d like to see in the White House) in any way, asking you to predict the future?

You’re being too evasive for someone who has been attacking Rick Perry. Have you attacked any other announced candidates? I’m sure someone will tell me if you have.

You're the one who posted the article, you tell us what you think it means.

Now there you go again, trying to confuse the thread.

Go back to Post #180 and read what you wrote to me.

You asked me a question and I asked you to give me a link to the information you were referring to.

I guess there isn't any information. You were just tossing it out there for fun.

Ha Ha. So funny.

Sheesh. Do you feel even a twinge of embarrassment saying such things to me, someone who has his real name and political associations up on his homepage, while you don’t divulge a single scrap of such information on your own?

You’re just dying to get rid of me, aren’t you?

No, why?

Honestly, I think you're wonderful. The more pro-Rick Perry threads you post, the more chances you give us to show other FReepers that Rick Perry is not the man that you and the other members of his fan club think he is. There are a lot of people who forgot that Rick Perry campaigned for Rudy Giuliani in 2008, there are a lot of people who didn't realize that he's spent 10 years saying nice things about illegal immigrants and how they are vital to our economy, his support of open borders and guest workers.

Why, there are people who had never heard of the Trans-Texas Corridor, Gardasil, the program in Texas where DNA from newborn infants was taken without the consent or knowledge of parents where Perry refused to put an end to it and let it go into the courts, plus all of Perry's various ties through donors and friends to companies who got millions in taxpayer money, and so on. Heck, it was just in the past few months that one company falsified its application for millions of dollars of taxpayer money through the Governor's office. When the public and Rick found out, did he get angry and demand the company repay the taxpayer money? No, he defended the company to the media. I guess it helped that the company was run by a man who gave a nice chunk of money to Rick and that the falsified application revolved around two people who had worked on or for Perry's staff.

You've actually done us a great service, and for that I am grateful.

It's actually from post #13

What do you think Rick Perry was talking about from those quotes of his you posted?

Perry will be the one to take down obami.

Perry is not as advertised and will be going back to Austin with his tail between his legs.

It sounds like you don’t believe in states rights on immigration enforcement even after the SCOTUS ruling US Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting given the green light for states and localities to reign in businesses via permits and liscenses. Perry has often spoken strongly in favor of states rights....do you agree with Perry on this?

I thought you were asking about actual announced candidates. If you want me to throw out names of people I'd like to see in the White House, I'd start tossing out the names of dozens of FReepers who are actual conservatives and not what passes for conservatives in the GOP these days.

Have you attacked any other announced candidates?

Out of the announced candidates:

I've interest in, but have expressed reservations about Bachmann and Cain.

Over the years I've said negative things about Newt Gingrich, Huntsman, Ron Paul, Pawlenty, Romney, and Santorum.

I have not yet attacked Gary Johnson, Fred Karger, Andy Martin, Thaddeus McCotter, Jimmy McMillan, and Jonathon Sharkey. Thaddeus has a good first name, and McMillan and Sharkey have interesting facial hair, but good names and facial hair are not enough for me to form an opinion on them.

Of the candidates I have not considered or attacked, I might as well start attacking. Fred Karger is a gay rights activist, so I doubt I would support him. McMillan is a single-issue candidate, Sharkey thinks he's a vampire and appears to be into wrestling which probably lumps him in with Karger. I'll have to look at the other ones a little more closely.

Well, I assume you know that a number of vaccines are required before children can attend public schools.

And you also know that parents could opt out with little trouble.

But if this is your baby, I guess you can rock it.

Here I’ve been arguing with 3 posters who refuse to name a candidate:

This is one of NUMEROUS Rick Perry threads you have posted. So many now that whenever I see a Rick Perry thread it is usually you who has posted it. The topic of this one is about Perry knocking Bammy ala border security. You wanna thread about who is supporting who start one.

I'd note that Rick Perry is not a candidate. He has not announced. You are shilling here for Perry who is not even in the race himself. Perry himself is not a "candidate". LOL!

All the people running are not in the race. It is July. Candidates cannot be chosen because like Perry they have not announced. Not that it matters. Nobody has to be for someone other than Rick Perry to point out his faults. Your complaint that 3 people who are not cozy about the non-candidate Perry have not named a candidate is a straw man. Pretty silly one at that.

Your resorting to calling someone like myself who has been here on FR for many years a "troll" stinks. It is not me who has been pimping the same topic over and over. You start thread after thread about non-candidate Rick Perry and get pissed when people point out his history. If there is a troll here using FR for their own agenda it is you. You are coming off as a shill, a pimp. Others like myself are taking note of that. You are starting to piss people off.
