If this sort of vision evolved, then from what?

The notion is that life started simple then got complex, if you believe Darwinian theories on the matter.

If the eyes were complex, then how’d they get that way?

Wellllll, some intelligent, creative source knew that there was no radiant sunlight right then. Too much condensed moisture and thick clouds so the color of earth’s atmosphere was like indigo or deep purple. In order for these creatureto distinguish things, they needed multifaceted lenses to pick up all the nuances in the color spectrum by utilizing every bit of reflected light they could. Otherwise they would have been blind.
Venus is mow as we once were.
