Bachmann criticizes black farmer settlement (she has them scared to death)

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann pointed to one program in particular Monday when talking about wasteful government spending: a multibillion dollar settlement paid to black farmers, who claim the federal government discriminated against them for decades in awarding loans and other aid.

The issue came up after Bachmann and Republican Rep. Steve King of Iowa toured flooded areas along the Missouri River. During a news conference, they fielded a question about whether farmers affected by the flooding also should be worried by proposed U.S. Department of Agriculture cuts.

The two responded by criticizing a 1999 settlement in what is known as the Pigford case, after the original plaintiff, North Carolina farmer Timothy Pigford. Late last year, President Barack Obama signed legislation authorizing a new, nearly $1.2 billion settlement for people who were denied payments in the earlier one because they missed deadlines for filing.

King has likened the Pigford settlement to "modern-day reparations" for African-Americans. He said Monday a large percentage of the settlement "was just paid out in fraudulent claims" and criticized the Obama administration's plan to resolve separate lawsuits filed by Hispanic and female farmers.

Apparently all that was required to get money from the Pigford settlement was to have eaten food grown on a farm once, seen a picture of a cow, and be black.

Social justice. That about sums it up.

"Claw every cent back from these shake-down artists"

Recovery of the fraud could be done by witholding their welfare checks, food stamps, etc.

As for their Lawyers.....charge them with Fraud, revoke their Licenses, and incarcerate the bastards.

How many of those know anything about this case? They don’t come on FR. I’ll bet you 99% of the people have no idea about this.

In any case this is a target rich environment so there can be attacks on lots of things people aren’t limited. Michelle got asked a question which allowed her naturally to get on that subject so it could not have appeared racist in her to answer it.

Excellent reflexes. Plus, she was in the House when this raid on the treasury occurred. The others were not.

I see evidence every week that a great redistribution is going on. Not just with black farmers but with blacks period.

It’s a shame the rest of us work, but some just sit around and are banking the money from the gov’t. Billions and billions are being given away right now to blacks. It did start heavily during the Bush administration. But now it has taken off even more.

Wasn’t Shirley Sherrod’s husband involved in Pigford or something like it? Was thinking I remembered something like that, no time to research it right now though.

“Maybe Soros has FOX’s balls in his hand.. and is squuzeeeeing..”

Why do you think ALL the LSM’s doing non-stop (gleeful) coverage and commentaries on the Murdoch/NewsCorp scandal?

I can’t see any legitimate “journalistic” reasosn for the hacking - makes no sense - what I think is that it was done by Soros-placed infiltrators in an effort to disgrace Murdoch and damage Fox News (they wish).

No, not all of them, only those who “farm”.

LOL - good one, Eagles6! :-)

Reparations, nothing less. Obama looting the Treasury to pay off one of his groups.

I remember a few years there was false info spread that blacks people were entitled to special tax credits and all they had to do was file for them. I believe the IRS paid the fraudulent claims, which I averaged 40k, but I’m not sure they got much of it back.

As I have been saying for a couple months now...The MSM/Rep Est has been pushing MB in their polls, news coverage etc. Everybody from The NY Times To Chris Matthews, to Andrea Mitchell has basically endorsed/adopted/”RAISED” Bachmann.

However with all their manufactured favorable polls for MB, she can NOT raise any money?? ANSWER because she does NOT have the support in reality in very large numbers.

So now they are starting to slam Bachmann to try and convince the masses that she is indeed the favorite, or else why would they go after her? This is what they want you to think.

Where`s the freakin money?? Her support is mostly manufactured.

Imagine if Sarah announced and only raised 2 million dollars?? As a GREAT Freeper reported the other day, Gov Palin would raise more than that before lunch.

So now the LSM is bashing her, while at the same time NY Times Dan Bawls and many others are still sticking to the praise Bachmann propaganda plan.

I guess it`s good cop bad cop routine, they are probably going to turn some of this in to real support for MB out of the manufactured push.

And Ed Rollins knows this is manufactured but he is rollin with it. Play the victim, milk the bashing, talk about miscarriages, etc.

The MSM/Rep est is doing their part by always saying on tv...Bachmann Palin, they want people to forget Palin Bachmann, but re learn the phrase with MB on top.

Kind of like Hardy and Laurel, Costello and Abbot, they are trying to subtly re write history.

I hope it does not work! It`s all a fraud, manufactured with one goal in mind, to keep Sarah Palin out of the race
