As an Army brat in the 60s and 70s, there was always a small rifle rack with 5-6 hunting and target rifles and shotguns in the back of a closet in our quarters. I vaguely remember Dad having to register them, probably with the MPs, but they were definitely in our quarters.

An American convert to Islam was accused of the shootings.

Col Lee alleged that other officers had told him that Major Hasan had said "maybe people should strap bombs on themselves and go to Times Square" in New York."

What you are describing, of course, is Castle Doctrine, and I think it’s one of the best laws we have. With the passage of Castle Doctrine, you no longer need a CHL to be carrying in your car when you are traveling...(if I’m in my car, I’m traveling—LOL)—or in your home.

I could ask you the same thing. The Snopes entry means just what it says. One of those quotes is not from Obama, others have been reworded or taken at least somewhat out of context. Still, quotes from the list are mostly but not entirely true.

Here is one of the incorrect Obama quotes: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

I do not have a copy of The Audacity of Hope, but apparently Obama did not say that. According to several Internet sources, this is the actual quote from the book:

Context matters, and so do quotation marks.
