There really isn’t a word for what ‘homophobic’ is supposed to be used for.

There is a root word, ‘miso’ , meaning ‘hatred’, as in misogynist, meaning ‘hatred of women’.

I came across a apparently recently coined word ‘misohomy’ which they use to mean ‘hatred of homosexuals’. So, one prcaticing it would be a ‘misohomist’. It may catch on.

My guess would be it is an article planted to get a desired reaction, disguised, though, as having a different intent. It looks like media manipulation.

Take it easy. My point was that is how liberals perceive so-called old school rednecks and what they would supposedly say in the 2000’s. Not to say anything negative about Southerners in general. That lib hoaxer couldn’t even be a good anti-Southerner bigot. And BTW, IMHO, southern whites were less “racist” than northern whites both in 1950 and today. They got a bad rap in the media, because all that was shown were the vocal racists yelling at black people and treating them shamefully. The media never showed the vast majority of Southerners who weren’t and aren’t racist. The whites in that region had a lot more interaction with black people than northerners, and valued them as friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc. In the north, blacks were more likely to live in urban neighborhoods that had less interaction with whites, thus less chance to get to know them that way. I can’t speak for NYC, but I knew a heck of a lot more racists in the Midwest than I ever did in the South.

The note in english had something like: “Muslims get out the U.S.” (something like this, and awkard and poor lettering) And below it was the arabic language written very nicely and with proper grammar. Of course I showed it to my kids and they could answer correctly “Does this look like it is written by an old white guy, or by someone from another country?” The news never reported it like that though.

The newspaper editor didn't have that font.

A year or two ago, in one of his fanatical speeches at our liberal colleges (Columbia U, I believe) Ahmedinejad proudly stated that there are no gays in Iran.

But recently, the Lavender Mafia was up in arms because Michelle Bachmann signed a pledge against same sex marriage and Sharia law. They didn’t line item veto the Sharia law bit, they were against her being against theocratic rule by a foreign power.
