Debt ceiling: Tell Tester to stand up for us ("Moderate" Montana Dem Senator supports tax hikes)
Missoulian ^ | July 19, 2011 | Lilya McAlister (Letter to editor)

I find it sad that Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., refuses to stand up against President Barack Obama's new budget. In order for them to raise the debt ceiling, the Democrats need to find the money to do so. It's ironic that the tax hikes Tester wants is about the same amount needed to implement the president's budget.

Instead of looking internally, and working hard to make meaningful budget cuts, Tester is saddling the American taxpayer with $2 trillion in new taxes. It is time for the people of Montana to call Tester and ask him to stand up for us, and work toward balancing the budget. We cannot afford two more years of his support of the Obama administration.

Why do you need more money to raise the debt ceiling? What's wrong with just decreased spending? Come on GOP, grow some stones for a change and beat these clowns back to the Stone Age.

Tester wants to get reelected. That means he needs to keep Federal dollars (crop subsidies, energy subsidies, highway fund, essential air service etc) flowing into the state. Most folks from Montana like those in other states want somebody else to balance the budget.

“Come on GOP, grow some stones for a change and beat these clowns back to the Stone Age”

Exactly right. All they have to do is open their mouths and express this.

Everyone in Montana: call Tester and tell him to support CCB when it comes over from the House. He must be told that he will pay a severe political price if he sides w Reid and BO.

A Rat is a Rat and a RINO is a RINO. There is no such thing as a “Moderate”.

Just what the hell do you think “ELECTING A MODERATE” IS GOING TO GET YOU?
It really means “we cave in at the last minute”.

I find it even sadder that the good people of what should be a solid red state would put Democrats in the Senate. This clown, the other guy, Mike Mansfield, Sheesh
