A growing number of states are shifting health care costs to the federal government by finding military veterans who receive Medicaid and signing them up for medical benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

When one of these A**holes can look me in the eye and tell me he/she has ridden an M1 tank all over Germany or Saudi Arabia/Kuwait, or ridden inside an M2 Bradley over the same countries, flown inside an Air Force plane as crew/passenger for 6-12 hours, then had to sleep on a cot if they were lucky, then maybe I will not go ballistic when they talk about cutting my benefits as a retiree. I can’t count the nights I have slept on the back deck or the top of the turret on an M1. Wait until you roll over and find a 2 inch bolt in your hip!! Do all these things for 20 years and tell me something isn’t hurting somewhere. But we can give all that up so some illegal immigrant/alien or some welfare do nothing can get their medical care free and still keep that large flat screen TV and XBOX 360.
I have no regrets for my choices, just disgust that I was foolish enough to think my country’s government would honor its promises and obligations to me and other veterans, and ultimately, its promises to its citizens. (Those that produce or sacrifice for the country; not those who stick their hand out and say “Gimmee”).

Umm.. I don’t (we don’t) have private coverage because #1 he’s a 100% disabled vet that nearly lost his head in Iraq and #2 I started law school right after he was retired. One more year of school to go and hopefully, I will have private insurance, that is if it’s not all gone due to ObamaCare anyway. What a monumental Charlie foxtrot this country is in.
