Wall Street saluted as well.

Obama said he hoped congressional leaders would "start talking turkey" as soon as Wednesday along the lines of the Senate "Gang of Six" proposal, which quickly overshadowed a no-tax-increase alternative that conservatives spent Tuesday pushing toward an evening vote in the House.

I'd like to think that everyone at FR understood weeks ago that all of this has been for your entertainment. A compromise to save face was destined.

If this flies, it’s time for a third party. Everything we said we DIDN’T want last November — loud and clear — seems to be coming to pass here.

It seems one election victory cycle was not enough. Will have to do it again.

On top of $trillion tax increase this year, if Congress does nothing we will have an automatic tsunami of a tax increase in 2013 when the Bush tax cuts end and the Obama care taxes kick in. Business taxes - double, cap gain taxes, god knows how much, and income taxes, especially at the lower end will sky rocket.

Our kids won’t have to worry about the debt. The poverty stricken never have to worry about such things. They will be more concerned about where their next meal will be coming from.

I’m not exaggerating.

The three Republicans, all conservatives, are Sens. Mike Crapo of Idaho, Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, who has a particularly close relationship with Boehner dating to their days together in the House.

These aren't conservatives. They are traitors. No one should vote for any of them, REGARDLESS of opposition. Even COMMUNISTS are more trustworthy.

"The group of six includes three Democrats, Sens. Kent Conrad of North Dakota, Mark Warner of Virginia and Dick Durbin of Illinois, a member of the leadership. Conrad (Countrywide Kent) is a lame duck. He has said he is not pursuing reelection, and probably knows danged well he would not survive the campaign.

Politically, that is, just to clarify that.

This is sick.

I’m hearing all these 3 card monty plans coming out of the senate.
It’s disgraceful that this recent plan(The 6 Gangsters) was announced on the same day as the historic cap, cut bill was passed in the house.

TO THE SENATE: Why don’t you VOTE on one of these plans.
Let the public see who needs to be primaryed!

Saxby Chambliss was born in the wrong era. He is a thoroughly unprincipled but deceptively jovial Good Ole Boy who would have made a perfect Dixiecrat.

.........compromise was destined......

Of course, you are correcto. Anyone who follows politics closely could see this coming for weeks. The GOP leadership has been read the riot act by Wall St. and are terrified about the consequences, real or imagined, of a default. And Obama, calling a press conference seemingly every 20 minutes, has completely flipped the polls his way. All their posturing has been a big act. The GOP always, repeat always, folds in the end. Their vote today was a hollow, feel good victory. Boehner threw a bone to the true believers. It will go no further.

“Slow the growth of social security?”

Without COLA increases combined with the amount of future inflation that the FED has been creating what they really are fixing to do is “reverse the value of social security payments”.

The FED is responsible for all of the inflation since its creation in 1913. Please read Griffin's - Creature from Jekyll Island (it explains how the FED is ripping us off by transferring the value of our personal wealth to the banking cartel knowingly by creating inflation). You'll want to punch the wall and a few other things...
