"Gang of Six" Senator Chambliss's defense.
Vanity | 7/21/2011 | G. Mortensen

Posted on 07/21/2011 10:30:03 AM PDT by mort56

Sorry for the vanity but I thought some would like to see one of the Gang of Six's defense and my response to my "conservative Republican" Senator's email.

-------------------

Dear Mr. Mortensen:

I appreciate your thoughts and comments in the past regarding our nation's budget crisis. I wanted to reconnect with you on the situation, and summarize some solutions I have been working on. As always, I welcome your thoughts on this most important issue.

Our country is in the midst of a fiscal crisis. In 2010, our government spent at a rate of 25% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and took in revenues of 14.5% of GDP. Each number is, respectively, an historic high and low. This resulted in a $1.5 trillion deficit in 2010. This is obviously unsustainable. In addition, we have a $14.3 trillion debt that must be repaid. It is fundamentally unfair to require future generations to pay our bills when we have not found the will to do so.

The danger of the crisis is substantial and imminent, and you and I and future generations will pay a very high price if we continue to ignore the difficult decisions required to fix this grave threat to our country's financial stability and national security. No less an authority than Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, testified that the greatest challenges to our nation's defense are our deficit and debt.

With these facts in mind and the realization that Congress cannot kick this problem down the road, several months ago I joined a bipartisan group of senators to identify the difficult issues and make the necessary decisions that would address the twin challenges of our deficit and debt.

Among other provisions, the proposal reduces the debt by $3.7 trillion over the next ten years; in the near term, stabilizes our publicly-held debt by 2014; and imposes tough and honest budget enforcement. We achieve these objectives through reducing discretionary spending, reforming entitlement programs, simplifying the individual and corporate tax code, and lowering tax rates.

In terms of tax reform, for example, we eliminate the alternative minimum tax. We broaden the revenue base significantly, lower all individual and corporate tax rates, and make our tax code more competitive for U.S. businesses here and abroad. This is a proven path to prosperity that President Reagan implemented in the mid-1980s.

As my voting record demonstrates, I don't believe raising taxes is the answer. The current tax code has become burdensome and complex and filled with provisions that only benefit a limited portion of Americans at the expense of higher rates for all Americans. As we go forward, my pledge remains to protect taxpayers and not special interests.

In sum, the solution must be based on both spending reduction and economic growth. Americans have demanded that leaders make the necessary changes to our fiscal policies to put our great nation on a track to sustained economic growth and real job creation. These choices may not be ones we would like to make, but ones we must make — now.

-----------

Dear Senator Chambliss,

I would appreciate it if you would not urinate on my leg and tell me it is raining. This plan is little more than platitudes filled with cover for the Marxist in the White House. And the only special interest you really care about is yourself.

We are in this fiscal crisis because you, your cronies and decades of horrid self promoters like yourself have refused to examine the Federal government and do the job to which you were elected. What agencies does your plan end? Where does your plan “reform” the real drivers of our debt, the entitlement spending? Did you even mention ending the newest entitlement disaster called Obamacare? Where is the complete scraping of a tax code that does little to help taxpayers but works great as a means for politician who use it to buy votes and punish their enemies. This plan, sir, is little more than attempt to give your “club” a beard to cover up for decades of profligate behavior. I don’t like being lied to or manipulated. The plan of the “Gang of Six” shows your complete distain for those you committed yourself to represent.

You are not part of the solution. You and your kind are the problem. You claim to be a conservative but comity means more to you than common sense and principle. I am a conservative, not a Republican because of decades of hypocrisy and arrogance.

Please know I will do all in my power to insure you retire as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will aid anyone willing to save our Republic from fools and knaves such as you.

Disgusted,

G. Mortensen Canton, Ga.

I live in GA and also want to register my complaint with this RINO disgrace. I hate filling out his form, though. Do you have his direct email address?

Love your opening salvo in your reply, btw. I hope I can suppress my gag reflex long enough to write as cogently.

The questions to be asked for the Gang of Six is this -

What do you think of the Cut Cap and Balance bill submitted by the House?

What point(s) in your proposal (in which details are to be hammered out later) do you think you can top the CCB in addressing our current crisis?

I like that opening also and being from GA...my opening to Sen Chambliss will be as follows, since you already covered one bodily function...I will go for the other.
Using your opening format, mine will be as follows:

Dear Senator Chambliss,
I would appreciate it if you would not serve a cold turd on a plate and call it your mama’s home cooking. This plan is little more than platitudes filled with cover for the Long Legged Mac-Daddy in the White Hut.

Ending: The only thing you have over Max Cleland is and extra arm and two legs. Please return to Moultrie at the earliest and do not go north of interstate 20 again.

…do I sound to hateful?

All the best,

"the proposal reduces the debt by $3.7 trillion over the next ten years"

This is a major scam on the American Public. The Federal Government uses what they call "baseline budgeting"(look that up, and see why all the Gov't. Agencies get more money each year).

The Projected 10 year deficit is 13-trillion dollars. Doing the math, and IF this supposed deficit ever came to fruition, the debt would still INCREASE by 10-Trillion.

Good for you. But its the same moronic crapola I received back from my detailed explanation to Shifty as to why he should not be supporting the Safety Act. All he could say to me was that the govt had to have the power to recall. What a crock!!!!! This guy is so dumb that 2 points higher on his IQ and he could have been a brick. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. He has got to go and Isakson with him.

Hear! Hear! I changed your very last sentence just a bit. I wouldn't touch the rest of your excellent retort for all the US debt in China!!

Please know I will do all in my power to ensure you are fired as soon as possible.

Again...excellent retort. One can only hope that the idiot reads it. It won't change his mind....but before his firing, he may just get the idea that the troops are not happy.

Just had a thought! The next time the RNC calls you for a donation, give them this clown's office telephone number and have them call there for a donation!

In fact, I think we all should be ready to do that. Including forwarding any mail that comes to us from the RNC directly to our federal waster's offices.

Go git ‘em, my friend! Excellent letter! It is time we all do as you did and stop accepting excuses such as lame claims of “unintended consequences” and stop falling for each made-up crisis like Global Warming, Financial Meltdown, and National Default.

You called Obama a Marxist and you are right and we should all continue to label him as such. However, he is not the first Marxists in the WH but if we don’t stop him he may be the last, and last democratically elected president we ever have.

We need to shed ourselves of political correctness and call things as they are.

Good one Mort...I took the liberty of borrowing your response and modifying it a bit and sending it to my Senate critter - the midget in the “Gangue of Six”, Senator Mike Craaaapo.

Look up “gangue”
