GOP Presidential candidate Herman Cain has revealed himself to be, for various reasons, the biggest bigot and buffoon in the race. He kicked up a firestorm with his recent comments on Fox News Sunday in support of the right to ban American mosques. Apparently, Cain thinks that freedom of religion means freedom to ban religions:
CAIN: They could say that. Chris, lets go back to the fundamental issue that the people are basically saying theyre objecting to. Theyre objecting to the fact Islam is both a religion and a set of laws, Sharia law. Thats the difference between any one of our other traditional religions where its just about religious purposes. The people in the community know best, and I happen to side with the people in Murfreesboro.
WALLACE: Youre saying any community, if they want to ban a mosque?
CAIN: Yes. They have a right to do that. Thats not discriminating based upon religion.
Discriminating against Muslims is not discrimination because theyre Muslims! Kind of like the argument we hear from racists that discrimination against black people is not discrimination because black people are more likely to be criminals.
Many religious leaders took Cain to task for his comments, but not everyone. In fact, more than enough far right wingers are gleefully embracing his call to deny American Muslims their fundamental American rights.
Bryan Fischer is a Christian fundamentalist who is one of the loudest voices of intolerance on the right wing. For example, he has argued that Muslims should not serve in the military, law-abiding Muslim immigrants should be sent back home, and all American mosques should be banned:
Permits, in my judgment, should not be granted to build even one more mosque in the United States of America. This is for one simple reason: each Islamic mosque...

The meaning of "phobia" is: an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation.
I am not afraid of Islam. In fact, I invite my Islamic "friends" to visit me down on the farm. They can pet my hounds, I'll fry them up some pork chops and then we'll do a little target practice.
Islam is not a religion,
It is a ideology based on world domination masquerading as a religion.
No other religion requires total submission or death.
ISLAM IS TERRORISM BY IT’S VERY NATURE
Go Cain! Sharia law is an abomination to the Constitution and sovereignty of the United States of America. JMHO of course.
I don’t understand the fear of Muslims. I mean, just because they want to kill all of us, that’s no reason to fear them...
“I dont understand the fear of Muslims. I mean, just because they want to kill all of us, thats no reason to fear them...”
Yep—just ask around in Norway today. Wherever islam goes, mayhem and murder travels with it.
I’m not for total ban, just allow as many mosques in America as there are Churches in Saudi Arabia.
Let’s allow as many Qrans in America as there are Bibles in Saudi Arabia.
Let’s allow as many Imams in America as there are Priests or pastors in Saudi Arabia.
Let’s start today.
a normal country would defend itself against its enemies.
This is why I do consider voting for Mr. Cain.
One of my best FRiends on FR is a big Herman Cain supporter. We talked about it last night, and I still needed a little more info on the man before being convinced.
THIS clinches it for me.
A mosque just steps from my home has been raided by the FBI, and its imam hauled off for funneling 10’s of thousands of $$$ to the Taliban.
The Imam’s Daddy, in Miami, was arrested for the same thing, as well as 5 more members of the mosque.
Yet when we neighbors and abutters demand the closing of this hotbed of treason, we are called “Bigots”.
Go Herman, GO!

Also - Cherokee County (GA) Republican Party BBQ - Herman Cain wins straw poll with 40% Rick Perry 25%. That makes 4 GA county straw polls he’s won this month, Fulton, Cobb, Cherokee, and the other one escapes me (sorry!)
Muzlims are, by their own words, sworn enemies of the United States.
Muzlims, therefore, are at war with the United States.
So far the United States has not declared war on muzlims.
But if the United States did what was right, it would defend itself, which would start by declaring war on islam.
All muzlims should be deported, all muslim organizations with any presence within the United States should be closed and no muzlims should be allowed to enter the United States going forward, ever. Every international flight to the United States should be certified to have no muslims on it at takeoff and landing.
That - amazingly - would just about win the war for the United States, since any muzlim nation could be squashed like a bug by the U.S. military and everyone knows it.
Can I get a duh ?
At this point,,,, he’s my guy. And I send info to all my friends, both Right and left.
So, infidel-killers disqualify themselves as bigots?
B U M P
That quote is taken out of context. IIRC, Cain went on to explain that the mosque in question was a front for radical islamics. But, hey, just like the msm did to Palin, they’re doing to Cain because he’s honest, speaks his mind and unlike most of the GOP has a brass set.
I don’t know.
I’ve been trying to tell folks the same.
The site in question has been used as a staging ground for rallies in support of radical Islamic interests and that why the locals are against the construction Mosque on the site.
