A lot of older people I know who are together don’t get married because the legalities make a mess for everyone. They don’t want to give the kids inheritance problems, lose their insurances, social securities, pensions, etc.

We formerly had a culture in which marriage was very important and to live together was disgraceful and looked down upon. THEN the “edgy” people got all bent out of shape about the mainstream culture being old-fashioned and uptight and marriage was declared to be “just a piece of paper” after all. THEN getting married became oh so very important and the most meaningful thing that people can do. It can get confusing.
It seems to me that what really matters to these people on the left is just to go against whatever is considered acceptable so that they can capitalize on it and get a lot of attention. If we had said, “Yeah, marriage means little nowadays, so go for it” they probably would have just dropped it as too banal and not causing enough trouble. They will never ever stop pushing the boundaries. They will just move on to the next demand.
Certainly the male population isn’t feeling any sense of loss!
There is objective truth, and there are immutable facts. Sex perverts marrying each is abnormal, immoral, and wrong. No amount of leftist legislation or judicial activism aimed at destroying America can change the truth or the facts.
