All last week, global warming-obsessed media were rife with reports about record-breaking heat. Problem is, according to the National Climatic Data Center, and marvelously reported by the Hockey Schtick Sunday, almost no temperature records were actually broken: [T]he NOAA database of all-time Max Temperature...shows that there were no records broken on July 17, July 18, July 19, or July 20th. A total of 4 stations broke records on July 21, 20 on July 22, and 10 on July 23, 2011. That's right. There were only 34 new all-time daily temperature records set during last week's "record-breaking heat." (Snip) As you

Not even here in Hokie-mama? (that’s how one of our grandsons pronounces it)
Ya I noticed that too. Rather than just talk about the actual temperature, they are focusing on heat index numbers of between 110 and 120 everywhere. Maybe it’s because they are still pushing global warming?
But, then we have been told that you can’t just go by day to day weather as an indicator of global warming. But perhaps you can do that if the powers that be declare that it is an historic heat wave. Then the rules are suspended and then we should talk about global warming????
Bull crap! We received record breaking daily temps in Philadelphia and Atlantic City last week......but so what? Atlantic City recorded 104 on Friday but we had a 110 (actual temp) in 1936. When we break 110 maybe I’ll start to worry.
My step-grandfather died in ‘02 at 92, we asked him one time what it was like back then. He said it started getting up into the 90’s by April, by July it ran over 110 for almost a month. The highest he could recall was 115.
They of course had no AC, he said they’d sleep outside on picnic tables with screen over them for the mosquitoes. You’d get up at light and work till maybe mid-morning, then sit in the shade or hit the swimming hole till evening and work till close to dark. He said it was awful.
Funny part is he said the winters then were butt spanking cold and ‘snow to the top of the fenceposts.’
“Feel’s like” is subjective and leftists love “feelings”.
