Arianna Huffington: 'The stimulus package failed'
The Daily Caller ^ | July 25, 2011 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 07/24/2011 10:26:06 PM PDT by Rufus2007

In 2009, the Democratic-controlled Congress and White House authorized $787 billion in stimulus spending, which was intended to rescue the U.S. economy from spiraling into a free fall.

But nearly two and a half years later, unemployment is still hovering near double digits and policymakers are still scratching their heads trying to determine what the proper government response to the economy should be.

During the online “Green Room” segment of ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington proposed even more stimulus spending as an answer.

My oh my, Arianna has lost faith in our beloved Obama administration, or she got fed some erroneous leftist talking points.

If we'd just ponied up a couple $ trillion, it probably would have worked./s

Please, someone hand Arianna her medication or take her to be evaluated by a panel of psychiatrists, at the university level.

Never seems to occur to these zero-sum LW types like Arianna Huffington that if there were a few trillion excess dollars laying around for LW-style Porkulus packages that the economy wouldn’t be needing stimulation in the first place.

Zsa Zsa on the Bush Tax cuts:“We’ve had them for so long,” she replied. “Why are we still over 9 percent unemployment if it is such a great stimulus?”

This dizzy broad is out of her mind. The left is either out of credible talking points to defend Obummers awful economy or Zsa Zsa is at good at understanding how the economy works as she is at picking straight men to marry.

Arianna Huffington: “I’ll say whatever I have to say and take whatever position I have to (including some Kama Sutra ones) to pimp my blog and up my celebrity.”

AH is just an older version of Lady Gaga. Why anyone ever thought she had something intelligent or original to say is completely beyond me. I know why: It is this phenomenon of having an accent. You have to listen closely to understand what she is saying, you have to work at it. In the process, you are too busy working to understand what she is saying to call “BS”. By the time you digest what she is saying and come to the conclusion that she is a nincompoop, it’s too late....what has been heard can not be unheard.

A large portion of the stimulus funds went to Congressional Districts that do not currently exist.

It is very difficult to measure the economic impact of stimulus funding on non existent Congressional District

Arianna didn’t get off on Bammy’s package? Says it wasn’t big enough? Failed to stimulate her?

I could go all day (unlike Bammy, apparently).

OK. I’ll quit now.

Totally OT, but a Ella Fitzgerald version of that Jobim tune is also on Youtube, and it’s excellent. I’m thinking of the version from the 60s.

For Lefties and Progressive’s the solution or plan is NEVER the weak link, the failure is rooted in the finding that we did not go big enough, or that the people driving the stimulus program were not smart enough.

Therefore, we need another, this time bigger, stimulus.
