Boehner Calls Rush Limbaugh, Gives Details of Negotiations With Reid, McConnell
Monday, July 25, 2011 | Kristinn

Posted on 07/25/2011 10:11:01 AM PDT by kristinn

Rush Limbaugh said Speaker of the House John Boehner phoned him this morning around 10:30 to brief him on the latest news about his negotiations with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to raise the nation's debt ceiling.

Limbaugh told about the conversation on his nationally syndicated radio program. Boehner said there is a two-tier plan in the works. Step one would cut $1.1 trillion in spending with a $1 trillion increase in the debt that would get the government to April 2012 with no tax increases.

The next tier would be recommended cuts by a joint House-Senate committee made by twelve members, six from each chamber with three each appointed by each leader, Boehner, Reid, McConnell and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Limbaugh said that McConnell is now on the same page as Boehner.

Thanks. I caught a fat-fingered typo in the headline on Limbaugh before I posted but I missed that one.

The $1.1 trillion in “cuts” (actually reduced increases in spending, given DC-speak) will be over the next 5-10 years. The Debt Increase would be for RIGHT NOW.

In other words, they're just "pretending" to cut, so everyone feels warm and fuzzy all over - until we end up in the same place again next year.

Well 1.1T is nothing to sneeze at, but, sadly, nowhere near enough.

The question is WHAT is being cut, WHEN, and is it REAL or “reduction in rate of increase” bullsh*t.

"I have a feeling that this scare tactic is similar to the Y-2K and Obammma’s stimulus scare"

I'm not scared. Default is a bluff. If America's credit rating falls, it will be due to continued deficit spending, not default.

Now they are setting up a 12 member committee with a maximum of three tea party members voting

No, ALL the tea party members in the House will end up voting on this.

Not sure what this “Super Congress” is...to me, it just sounds like another fancy BS committee where they talk about sh*t all day with no real results.

Immediate Result: Debt ceiling raised immediately...

Down the road Result: Raucous Blue Ribbon Panel fights over "cuts" down the road. Either no agreement among Panel... or a couple of Pubbies on The Panel cave and accept Democrat plan. Congress rejects lousy deal...

Ultimate Result: Debt ceiling raised again another TRILLION dollars. No cuts to bloated spending. Problem kicked down the road until April and things get much worse. GOP snookered once more and the American People lose again...

Obama and Liberal Marxists win again...

NO WAY...
This is a SELLOUT, kick-the-can-down-the-road deal. No Specific cuts, no timetable, a “Commission” to decide what the cuts will be.

ABSOLUTE BULLSH**T

We have these idiots on the ropes, it’s time to drive it home, NOT fold!

This pretty much assures that Obama gets reelected...

:: The house presently has control of the purse strings with the republicans in control of the house ::

So why do I keep hearing about congress running the plan by Obamugabe before it is considered?

Is Herr Ubama doesn’t like it, he can say so with his VETO pen. These folks will get played like a fiddle is they aren’t more cautious of their “co-equal Constitutional power”.

At least, it only goes to April 2012. That’s the good news.

Yes, it means budgeting will be in an Election Year. And if Democrats want to keep their base, they have to be FOR TAX INCREASES, AGAINST BUDGETING AND BALANCED BUDGET ADMENDMENTS in an Election Year!!

Whoopee, they won't be able to tack to the Middle (their only way to fool the American People).

Exactly.

Why change things now, when it so strongly favors the Democrats?

Of course, it also prevents rioting among the parasite classes.
