One-Year Later: Small Businesses See More Harm, Not Help, From Democrats’ Health Care Law

A new report released today by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy group whose membership consists of 350,000 small business owners nationwide, provides further evidence that the Democrats’ health care law is adding higher costs, new taxes and increased deficits.

The key findings from the report provide a stark contrast to the promises of lower costs that were repeated over and over again by the President and other supporters of the Democrats’ health care law.

In reality:

The report reveals that the Democrats' health care law will be particularly devastating for employers with low-wage workers who may drop health coverage – either because they stop offering due to cost, are forced to as their competitors cease to offer coverage, or because a private entity cannot compete with the government.  According to the report, “Low-wage employees … have a powerful incentive to bolt an employer’s health plan for the newly established and heavily subsidized exchanges.  Should employees begin to leave for an exchange, 26 percent of currently offering small employers are very likely to explore dropping their health insurance plans and another 31 percent are somewhat likely to do so.”

One thing is certain: for too many small businesses, more – more taxes, more paperwork burdens, more costs and more deficits – does not mean better.

Anyone who expected something different is an Obama lap-dog democrat or an idiot... ...but I repeat myself.

If anyone expected differently, I have a bridge to sell.

If health care reform is implemented in full, it will be a disaster for everyone. It has to be repealed.

Many small business owners thought it wise to look to the socialists (the federal government ‘helpers’) to reform health care in the last Presidential election. They thought they could get something for nothing.

Alas, it is always the same old story with a lot of spilled guts and no glory.

“If anyone expected differently, I have a bridge to sell.”

POTUS apparently did (or said he did). Thus, he either is a fool or a liar.

We will all go out of business if obamacare is enacted... that is not a threat... that is a promise. We cannot afford it... our Republic cannot afford it... our end is near if we do not change direction.

Yes. As with insurance companies, it allows medical costs to be outrageously high. Too many people are under the impression that they’ll live forever.

A liar. All the wonderful things he said would happen under this “health care reform” are just not true. Even the assertion that now, everyone will be covered is a lie. Sadly, his true believers still think government care is going to be a good thing. They won’t know the evil this scheme will wrought till they or their loved ones become ill and try to take advantage of it.
