WASHINGTON (AP) -- House Speaker John Boehner says President Barack Obama wants a blank check from Congress to raise the debt ceiling, but that he's not going to get one.
Boehner says the solution to the debt crisis isn't complicated.

How about we cut up the credit card while we are at it.
Simply tell the Senate and Zero that the bill, CCB has been passed by the House and sent to the Senate. Adjourn the House until Aug 15.
IF zero wants this off the table during the election cycle...then CCB is the only legislation that will do that. So zero needs to call Harry and tell Harry to pass the bill as is.
We will likely get a downgrade soon even if these plans would pass. The only long term solution is to stop spending more than you are taking in and balance the budget.
If the American people do not burn up the phones insisting on a BBA, open debate and vote in the Senate(not back room deals and commission deals), then within 2 years or so USA will be in default for real with no way out.

Jim Demint just said, it won’t happen unless the American people who are watching this issue burn up the phones to their reps and senators insisting on CCB or BBA.
Gosh, watching FReepers you’d hardly know that while Boehner says he won’t give Zero a blank check, he is giving him one with a dozen zeroes in it.
Start with any and all of the vote buying, fabianist extortion laundries begun under LBJ’s War on Poverty.
Or, in the alternative, sunset the New Deal.
I don't think I'll be making phone calls in support of a plan that raises the debt ceiling $2.4 TRILLION dollars, thank you very much.

Same here, haven’t made one phone call. Don’t see the point when both sides keep talking about giving BO at least a trillion dollars. Pffft
