SAN ANTONIO In Vernon, Calif., billboards and radio ads bought by the city in suburban Los Angeles portray Texas Gov. Rick Perry as some kind of unstoppable, job-lassoing marauder an image Perry himself would no doubt embrace if he decided to run for president.
"This just in," begin the radio spots, which started airing in June, "Texas Gov. Rick Perry is urging Vernon's 1,800 employers to move their 55,000-plus job from California to Texas." Beneath the voiceover, an emergency siren wails.
When it comes to attracting jobs, are Perry and Texas really such a force to be reckoned with?

They are trying to portray Texas jobs as “hamburger flippers”.
Sorry, MSM, Obama owns that prize!
As much as Texas attracts jobs, California repels them.
Yes, doofus, they are.
Swamp the entire media with such adverts.
The ignorance among the general populace of basic free-market economics is staggering.
Plenty of work in Texas as long as you are an illegal. Perry & friends ensured that Texas remain a sanctuary state.
Yep, flippin burgers @ home while waiting on their check.
New Chinese proverb: Ton of work and tort reform, gets you two pounds of luck.
It would be even better if he hadn’t raised taxes on businesses and doubled government spending since taking office.
Are you outta your mind? Wanna take a guess at which state (Texas or Cailifornia) is more illegal friendly? Which one leads the nation in Sanctuary Cities? Which one is more unfriendly to business owners? Which one has oppressive personal property taxes?
I could go on and on. But the idea here is simple: California is swirling the bowl.
Well, illegals working or not, the unemployment rate in Texas is at 8.2%. California is sitting at 11.8%. So I think most people would rather live in Texas if they were looking for a job.
That incudes DewCrist and Speaker Joe Straus (ubder RINO)
So, does this mean California is “unlucky”? I don’t recall any hurricanes hitting California...
Before the recession hit in 2008, Texas not only had a balanced budget but an $11 billion surplus.
Nope just other natural disasters like massive fires, mudslides when it does rain, and earthquakes. California has its own share of natural problems. Right now, Texas wouldn’t mind a low grade hurricane. It would help with the heat and drought. It could just slide in under Kingsville and head north bringing rain. That would be a blessing.
I read that California just passed its own version of the Dream Act. More proof of how they are racing head first to bankruptcy.
Californians sure are getting touchy now a days when Texas is mentioned.
Hopefully, in 2014, Texans will elect a conservative governor who will open up even more jobs by deporting illegal aliens.
Said to say Liberals really believe this sort of stuff
Arging with a Libtard once about the poor economy of Upstate New York, the Libtard actually argued that the only reason upstate was in a mess was because it was unlucky to have all “buggy whip” type industries.
Of course when you ask why are new industries starting up in freeer places like Texas instead of New York they have no answer
