A senior judge has been arrested on rape charges after his alleged victim secretly filmed him carrying out the attack.
Judge Albert Murdoch was also allegedly caught on the hidden tape boasting that he was above the law and would use his police contacts to make any charges go away.
His arrest has led to authorities in New Mexico to look into many of the cases he presided over during a 25-year career.
Murdoch, a 59-year-old criminal judge for the Second Judicial District Court in Bernalillo County in Albuquerque, was arrested on rape charges based on the hidden tape.
Police said a prostitute hired on at least eight occasions by Murdoch set up the camera when she visited his home

I am not sure that the prostitute has much of case. She is being paid to do what he wants, after all.

This wasn’t some “companion” or something. She was an old-fashioned prostitute PAID SPECIFICALLY FOR SEX.

I once lived in New Mexico It is as corrupt as it’s neighbor to the south.
So, she was visiting his home, she was a prostitute, and had visited him at least eight times previously. And decided to video the encounter.
I strongly suspect that what happened was a play-acting scenario that the judge enjoyed, and which the hooker figured could take him down if she alleged it was not play-acting.
The judge has since retired in exchange for no further disciplinary actions by the judicial board. That’s good, he should be disqualified as a judge and that is what happened (he can’t ever be a judge again per his today’s agreement).
This was one of seven encounters and the prostitute began filming the judge without his permission and asking hypotheticals. It sounds like it was a blackmail case that did not go anywhere and we have no idea what they agreed to prior to her activating the camera. Also, the prostitute claims she didn’t want to receive oral sex, not that she didn’t agree to have sex with the judge.
She also tried accusing the judge of having child pornography on his computer, which apparently wasn’t the case, and the police misfiled the charges which they are not looking to amend (he was accused of raping a child when the prostitute is not).
