The blood bank is supposed to test each and every pint donated for diseases, regardless of the donor’s interview responses about fitness to donate.

There is an occult incubation period shortly after infection which eludes many of the HIV tests. Even if perfected, should we really allow for the possibility of a botched testing procedure for a unit of blood that may be used by the general population?

Sure, the homos can lie, but a sane society would make the detection of infection after the pretense of qualification by a homosexual a felony punishable by imprisonment.

Agreed. I'm on the side of banning this group entirely, just as other groups (e.g. IV drug users) are banned.

Speaking of IV drug use, when I donate (every eight weeks, I have a blood type that's in demand and the blood bank loves to call me) they check my bare forearms as part of the health interview.
