DC-Area Freeper Alert- Moveon Rallying at the Capitol tomorrow

Posted on 07/27/2011 9:40:19 AM PDT by God luvs America

Dear MoveOn member,

In the last 24 hours things took a dramatic turn in the fight over whether we'll default on our debt.

Progressives organized over 800 rallies nationwide that generated a flood of pressure on Republicans. The president's speech led to so many people contacting Congress that the switchboard jammed. And Speaker Boehner is struggling to get enough votes to pass his terrible proposal through the Republican House.

Suddenly, there's a path to a deal that doesn't simply cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid to pay for tax breaks for the rich.

But the next 3 days are crucial, and we need to turn up the heat even further. We're planning an emergency rally on the Capitol steps tomorrow, recording new ads targeting swing Republicans, and keeping the pressure on Democrats so they stand strong.

But we can't do this without money. Every minute counts—which is why this email is short—and every dollar will help us do more. Can you chip in $5?

Yes, I can contribute to help keep up the fight.

Thanks for all you do.

–Daniel, Justin, Elena, Robin, and the rest of the team

“Suddenly, there’s a path to a deal that doesn’t simply cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid to pay for tax breaks for the rich.”

I must be totally on another planet, here, but when have the Republicans been advocating for cuts to SS, Medicare, or Medicaid? Has anyone specifically said what is in the latest Boehner plan?

In the last 24 hours things took a dramatic turn in the fight over whether we'll default on our debt.

If the US "defaults" on its interest payments, there is only one place to look - the boy king. We take in $170-200 Billion in Aug and the interest payments are about $29 Billion. If nothing happens to the debt ceiling, the only way the USA can default is when boy king tells little timmy to NOT issue checks.

STOP IT WITH ALL THE LYING AND SCARE TACTICS.

Hey !! why ruin a good 50th Birthday party !! scheduled for the President...free campaign coverage for 2012!!! should Obama pull it off--eat, drink & be extra extra merry!

Will the checks still go out to social security recips, entitlements; etc.? Yes.
Will anything change from government doing business one day to the next? No.
Will our credit rating drop? Could, either way.
How will the world see us? The same as they saw us yesterday and the day before and the day before that.

Since 1981, there have been five government shutdowns. Four of the last five government shutdowns went largely unnoticed by anybody but the federal employees affected. But they get paid either way.

Always disturbed by the tax breaks for the rich song and dance (it’s an old tune, I’m sure everyone knows the tune if not the lyrics). The so-called rich pay almost all of the Federal taxes. On a personal level, I had worked for a start-up business some years back and will never forget that one of the first paychecks I received came out of someone’s personal checking account. Right, one of those evil rich people rolling the dice on starting a business and employing people to get it operational.

Who didn’t know that Obama’s speech/whine for help was a verbal que to signal the Left and the Lefty unions to burn up the congressional switchboard against Republicans yesterday and today? 800 rallies. My foot. It took the media to drum up any visability whatsoever of these rallies.

Pray for the Republican caucus trying to hold the dang line in this fog of political DC manufactured war.

No Rep cuts to Medicare. The Dems have already cut $500 billion thru Obamacare. However, the House budget does change the Medicare paradigm using a premium support plan for those 55 and younger. In essence, it changes the program over to private insurance to operate. And the House budget changes Medicaid to a bloc grant to the states.

“...Republican caucus trying to hold the dang line in this fog of political DC manufactured war”

Bank on it, the ‘debate’ is going to become more chaotic, surreal and Byzantine than anything you have ever seen.

Focus on the basic problems is the last thing Liberals want to obscure.

Forcing public attention to peripheral, barely related and marginally germane considerations is EXACTLY what Liberals want!! This will confuse and anger Americans and will circumvent the common sense and clear headedness essential to accomplishing a fair and practical solution!

It is always the same. THAT is why Tea Party members and their representatives are so determined.

If what we have done to this point is not working, it is obvious that we need to change.

if that pathetic speech by the Bamster jammed any switchboard it was at ABC, and the callers were angry that they were missing The Bachelorette.
