Tea Party Rep. Joe Walsh sued for $100,000 in child support
BY ABDON M. PALLASCH Political Reporter/apallasch@suntimes.com July 27, 2011 9:59PM

Freshman U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh, a tax-bashing Tea Party champion who sharply lectures President Barack Obama and other Democrats on fiscal responsibility, owes more than $100,000 in child support to his ex-wife and three children, according to documents his ex-wife filed in their divorce case in December.

“I won’t place one more dollar of debt upon the backs of my kids and grandkids unless we structurally reform the way this town spends money!” Walsh says directly into the camera in his viral video lecturing Obama on the need to get the nation’s finances in order.

Walsh starts the video by saying, “President Obama, quit lying. Have you no shame, sir? In three short years, you’ve bankrupted this country.”

In court documents, after his ex-wife, Laura Walsh, asked a judge to suspend his driver’s license until he paid his child support, Joe Walsh asks his ex-wife: “Have you no decency?”

Joe Walsh’s attorney, R. Steven Polachek, called the claim of a $117,437 debt “unfounded.”

“I dispute that he owes the child support that she’s claiming or anywhere near that amount,” Polachek said. “Joe Walsh hasn’t been a big-time wage-earner politician until recently — he’s had no more problems with child support than any other average guy.”

While Laura Walsh’s attorneys say they have been awaiting a meeting with Joe Walsh’s attorney to work out a settlement, Polachek said it’s her attorneys who have been stalling.

I guess he will have to sell his Maserati to pay for it all.

This babe must be full bore Mensa.

Nothing like going public with this stuff to insure Rep. Walsh's political career will suffer, perhaps fatally. Talk about killing the golden goose.....

The medical benefits he receives as a congressman are certainly of great value to the young children for years to come. What can this stupid woman be thinking of?

Congratulation to him for dumping her (if he's the dumper, not the dumpee, LOL.)

The depression, default and decline from political correctness, feminism and romanticism proceeds. Enjoy the slide.

Translation:

Charlie Rangel can hide his purchase of property in the Caribbean for years.

Nancy Pelosi can steal Treasure Island from San Francisco and give it to her family's construction company to develop over the next decade.

But if an "Average Joe" should make it into Congress today, the "wealthiest 1%" of Congress will see to it that he's ousted at the soonest opportunity.

Soros/DNC opposition research people taking aim at a fearless Tea Party spokesman. The Sun Times is a bankrupt tabloid that does little more than reprint press releases from Democrat politicians and front groups. No credibility. At all.

From the article...

“In addition to the foreclosure on his condominium, Walsh was haunted during his campaign by disclosures of liens on his property from unpaid bills and staffers abandoning his campaign, saying he wasn’t paying them.

Keith Liscio, who said Walsh hired him to be campaign manager — Walsh disputes that — has sued Walsh for $20,000 in salary he said Walsh owes him. Both sides are trying to settle that case.

Staffers learned during the campaign that Walsh was driving on a suspended license. His license was suspended twice in 2008 for his failure to appear in court, and he was cited in 2009 for driving on a suspended license, according to the Illinois Secretary of State.”

Nice to see the He-Man Woman Haters Club is out in full force, but this guy is a loser...

His official bio says: “He and his wife Helene together have five children.” but apparently he also has an ex-wife named Laura.

She only filed in December, but claims he owes $100K in back child support? How long have they been separated?

December. Imagine that. His Ex filed a month after his winning the election and a month before he took office.

What timing!

This whole mess makes no sense.

It says his ex-wife only filed for divorce in December [2010?] and he owed $117,000 in child support THEN, according to papers she filed with the divorce????

Bio says he has another wife and they have FIVE children.

If he only got divorced from Laura around February, how did he and wife #2 manage to have five children?

I’ve thoroughly confused myself, so I’ll quit now.

It doesn’t actually say that they were divorced in 2010. She just filed this particular petition asking for back child support in 2010.

When a bio says that John Doe and his wife have five children “together” or “between them,” it usually means that they have five children from their previous marriages, relationships, etc..

Doesn’t really matter. He got the remap shaft and is probably gonna end up running against another Republican (Hultgren).

Club for Growth is backing him but it’s mostly Hultgren’s district.

Former State Senator versus this guy (solid conservative but iffy personal history), I can’t see Hultgren losing.

Joe is a good man, and obviously ruffling some feathers here in Chicagoland.

Welcome to the meatgrinder Joe.

I’m sure that his ex was approached by a good dem lawyer.

Here in Chicago, it is not the outcome of the case that matters when it comes to R’s, it is the allegations.

This will run front page in both of our papers for a few weeks, you can bet on it.

I long ago added Illinois to the states that will be asked to leave the republic in order to save it. It joins the lovely states of Massachusettes, New York, Connecticut, Vermont, Maryland and New Jersey. I’d add California but they left on their own.

The Obama media group is determined to silence conservatives.

This is just one their many schemes to destroy the Tea Party groups.

The Chicago Sun-Times splashed this on their front page today:

TEA PARTY REP. SUED FOR $100,000 IN CHILD SUPPORT.
