Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has revised his plan to raise the debt limit in a last-ditch bid to attract Republican support.
The biggest change is that Reid would give the president almost unilateral power to raise the debt limit, borrowing an idea introduced by Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
Reid would have President Obama request a $2.4 trillion debt-limit increase in two installments of $1.2 trillion each. The requests would be subject to congressional resolutions of disapproval, but these would do little to restrict the president.

Here comes the planned switcheroo...
Congressional Responsibility Abdication Plan
Geesh, I predicted in a vanity not 12 hours ago that this is EXACTLY what would happen. I kind of hoped I’d be wrong, and sure as hell didn’t think I’d be right this soon.
All juvenile “Buck Fush”-ness aside, Reid’s plan is a joke. It is a complete abdication of responsibility. In other words, it’s a Democratic dream.
The Republican establishment ruling class always was going to give Obama what he wants. They knew that those upstart tea party people would be allowed to play a little, but in the end it would them who would prevail. Just like it always was.
The most important races in 2012 will not be in November. They will be in the primaries when these elitists will have to face tea party challengers.
“The proposal I have put forward is a reasonable compromise,” Reid said. “It gives Democrats what they want, and it gives Republicans what they want. If we do nothing, our country will fail to pay its bills for the first time in history. Social Security checks could stop. Paychecks to our troops could stop.”
They only stop if the Messiah commands it.
HR does not have a filibuster rule.
This is Alice in Wonderland stuff. How does a “Resolution of Disapproval” and a failure to pass one, somehow translates into a Resolution of Congress to Approve the President’s Request for a Raise in the Debt Ceiling?
On a similiar note, it just grates that this is coming from Dingy Harry Reid, who should have been kicked to the Senate curb by Nevada voters last Nov. We might have been able to take the Senate but it is a travesty that this lickspittle prick is still in charge.
This is suppose to make it better???
No, but the House Republicans can vote NO and defeat it.
I am sick of this kabuki theater crap!
Throw all the bums out!

Hell, give it to him. Whats the difference anyway. What’s the point of investing in so called Tea Party candidates, when all DC has to do is turn them. We make the investment, DC gets the return.
We make the investment of electing them, DC gets the return.
We get nothing.
If it takes Nobama without any budget at all for his first term the dems are on board. Thats the deal.
Reid is at least 2 RINOs short right now.
Tell him it’s dead in the House before he even sends it over.
