As I understand the Mack 1 proposal by Rep Connie Mack of Naples Fla. it eliminates the automatic 7.5% increases in the federal budget and in addition cuts another penny(1%) of the budget. In about 8 years it becomes balanced simply by eliminating the yearly increases that have been allowed by previous idiotic congresses.

I’d go for that. However, with the exception of the one sent solution that won’t pass, everyone is trying to adjust how hard we push the gas peddle. NO ONE is serious about shifting to neutral let alone applying the brakes.
