Every few weeks, Aidan Key might get a call: a little boy in school is dressing as a girl — in frilly tops or pink skirts. A girl in first-grade will be returning from a holiday break as a boy.
Public- and private-school administrators and the parents of these kids want guidance navigating such sensitive terrain; they want to help children become comfortable calling a classmate by a new name, or know how and when to refer to another student as he or she.
There was a time when these calls were almost exclusively about middle- and high-school kids. But increasingly they involve children as young as kindergartners — 5- and 6-year-olds who don't believe their bodies match who they feel they are inside.

Normally, when a parent discovers that their child has a mental disorder, they will do everything they can to help the child overcome it. But unfortunately for those children who suffer from politically correct mental disorders (such as thinking their body is the wrong sex), leftist parents will actually encourage those disorders and make them worse.
You're exactly right. And what those parents want to brag about specifically is how open-minded they are to be supporting their mentally ill, wannabe transgendered kids.
Liberals are obsessed with this notion of open-mindedness, and proving to themselves and to their liberal friends how open-minded they are. But open-mindedness uncoupled from critical thinking leads to destructive stupidity, as evidenced in almost every liberal position on every issue.

You said it! Insane liberal thinking is par for the course in that socialist lovin’ cesspool/open sewer that is Seattle, (and it’s nearby communities), in Washington State though. SinFreakSicko and the surrounding bay area has nothing on Seattle either.
Reminds me of the recent story where the parents were not telling anyone the sex of their baby. His or her name is “Storm” as I recall. The parents will not tell anyone the sex of the baby, and claim that they will raise him/her free of any gender stereotyping or pressures to conform to societal expectations.
Gee, society sure is oppressive to liberals isn’t it? People who wonder about the sex of your baby want to know so they can impose gender stereotypes on him/her. It’s hard to believe but that’s how these radical liberal types think.

Oh for pete’s sake. My three year old has spent all summer being “Bowser” some character in Mario. Not that he plays the games, just saw the picture and decided that’s who he was. I spiked his hair and that’s as far as my indulgence of his whims went. But that’s because I’m a parent.
I had a daughter who thought she was a chicken. My wife wanted to take her to a psychiatrist, but I told her no, because we needed the eggs.
It’s kids being kids. Encouraging them to actually become the “gender” they feel like at 5 years old is abuse. My sister was a tomboy, but grew up completely normal. The next door neighbor boy loved purses and having his nails done. But he outgrew it. Oftentimes a child will identify with the parent’s gender in a single parent household, because that is their only “model” when they are small.
I started life as a Bulldog; later, since I always wanted to fly, I became a Falcon, but then reassigned myself as a Ram...I AM an Aries, after all!
Had to change my wardrobe, as a Falcon is Blue & White; but a Ram is Red & White; not quite as deadly a rivalry as Crips & Bloods, but still don't want to flaunt the wrong colors on home turf.
Then I graduated, and became a Viking...and got a kitty.
Now, I'm just an old fart; I wear what I want...and have THREE kitties.
