McCain rips Toomey on Senate floor (McCain attacks Tea Party vision as "flawed" and "terrible")
The Morning Call, Allentown, Pa. ^ | 2011-07-31 | Colby Itkowitz

Former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, who this week referred to Tea Party lawmakers as "hobbits," publicly criticized Pennsylvania's Pat Toomey Sunday during an unusual unscripted debate on the Senate floor.

McCain, who appeared to be having a great 'ol time during a back and forth with Democrat Majority Whip Sen. Dick Durbin, referred to Toomey and those who share his views as "terrible."

"...the terrible obstructionists on this side of the aisle, the terrible people, their flawed philosophical views about the future of America..."

Forget it. Would need well over 380,000 AZ signatures just to get it on the ballot.

OH MY GOD...I am so furious at these attacks on the tea party. Not ONE Tea Party person got us into this mess. HOW DARE THEY blame this on them. Perhaps if the GOP hadn’t compromised for the past 20 years we would be in this pickle. I want us to take note of every single Republican who has bashed the tea party and I will work tirelessly for their opponent in the primary. Tell you what Jose McCain, better do what’s good for the Country, because there is no way you’re being reelected. THere is nothing you can do..you will go down in history as one of the leading Senators who destroyed this Country.

McSham and LIEberman should start their own party—the We Stand for Nothing But Our Own Interest Party.

Look, the reality is that the elected Republicans and the Democrats are in fundamental agreement on the following: The Money Power of Congress includes the creation of fiat, credit-based money; the proper function of the Federal Government is to expand the monetary base, tax incomes, and fund “programs” that redistribute incomes from work and employ otherwise unemployable people.
The reason the “Tea Party” is under such concerted attack from both elected Republicans and Democrats is that they (possibly) do not share these fundamental premises, which are the foundation of the post-1933 American state.

The elected Republicans, and the Democrats, also share the belief that even a reduction in rates of increase in “programs” will trigger violence on an almost unimaginable scale.

The reason they don’t do what normal, psychologically healthy people would do under threat - say, “Bring it on and we will shoot you down in the gutter” - is because elected Republicans and Democrats also share the belief that socialism is basically RIGHT and that capitalism is fundamentally WRONG.

So, it is wrong to say that the Republicans are “folding” - they do not share your fundamental beliefs and they never did.

They are just doing what they must to keep their dying world alive for a few more years.

I recently had the thought that McCain reminded me of an old professional athlete that waited to long to retire. But then I quickly realized that McCain NEVER displayed any capabilities to put him in that category in the first place. Toomey gets it. McCain is the primary example of what is WRONG with the republican party.

McLame is a total hack. How dare he trash an honorable and principled man like Toomey. Mclame couldn't reach the stature of Toomey if he stood on a ladder. What a petty little toad.

Col. Bui Tin, a former Senior Colonel in the North Vietnamese Army (he had actually interrogated McCain and other U.S. prisoners) testified before the Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs in 1992. At least 55 American POWs were murdered by their interrogators and guards while in North Vietnamese prisoner of war camps. During a break in the hearing, Sen. McCain moved to where Col. Bui Tin was seated and warmly embraced him as if he were a long lost brother.

How did he ever win the primary and get re-elected? I guess it was because he had a ton of money from Establishment interests and pretended he was a conservative—he even talked about tightening up the BORDER.
He wants to be loved by his old friends in the MSM, a group that stayed with him until he ran against Obama. Now he will be in favor again: the media loves Republicans who are 1) losers and 2)attack their own. He makes me sick.

McCain and his pal Durbin are two of the crooked sleazebags who put the country on the edge of bankruptcy to begin with.

Now they ridicule people who are trying to save the country and restore the Republic!

It’s too bad we are no longer permitted to tar and feather politicians. These two would be good candidates to restart the tradition.

BLUF:

McCain knows he will not be reelected in 2012.

McCain's private polling and counting of his high value contributors are indicating serious problems. Add to this the sustained popularity of Sarah Palin and McCain knows he is in serious trouble.

His options are leave without losing or leave after losing.
Both options are extremely damaging to his self image and he is reacting accordingly.
