Dick's right once in a while.

(That's Morris, not Obama. ;*)

Working INSIDE the R party to get the RINO's out. It's the only thing that will work to save the country.

The ONLY thing.

btw, it's not often that my posts are called a 'breath of fresh air.' :)

Hysteria frequently wins the day around here.

Thanks for the kind words and calm, rational thoughts.

And as predicted the republicans, wait even the tea party people caved. Once again nothing was accomplished. Spending still goes up each and every year. America goes bankrupt very shortly.

My IL congressman, Hultgren was one of the no votes. Too bad for him he voted yea on Boehner 3.0.
This was an easy no vote for a lot of so called
“conservative” republicans, because the dems had their backs. Boehner didn't need them.

Your welcome! I've enjoyed reading your comments and agree with much/most that you have to say.

Hysteria frequently wins the day around here.

We need a little less hysteria and a bit more realism. We need to constantly push conservatism and the Republican party further and further to the right, but be mindful not too get so far out in front of public opinion that we suffer the kind of PR setbacks that can wreck all the progress we've made.

The public is still not anywhere close to being really ready to seriously cut and curtail the social welfare state. We are making great gains and moving the debate in our direction, but the resistance to the big changes necessary is still extraordinarily strong. Just look at the firestorm Ryan's Medicare reforms created! Heck, even some conservatives here have the "I paid into it and want ALL my benefits" attitude.

We're getting there though! 2012 is really what it is all about now. The stage is set. If we get a good solid conservative president and sweep the Democrats out of power in the Senate we can really make the kind of changes so many of us have been dreaming of.

There are people who can right this country from the White House besides Sarah Palin. Cain and Rubio come to mind.

Palin sucks all the air from everything. Not her fault, but she becomes the issue and is a distraction. It is potential suicide to let that happen. The issue has to be about the issues, and not the people running.

Palin makes a much better kingmaker, ESPECIALLY since our message is the right one and the one that the vast majority of Americans agree with.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see her in the Oval Office. But there will be a cost. They say that ‘we’ control the House, and ‘we’ just learned differently.

Like it or not, there are officially 3 parties in this country, and we are sucking hind tit right now (excuse my language). What we need is to get rid of as many RINOs as possible. If we cant primary them out, then we (hope I dont get banned for this...) vote for the Democrat so that NEXT time, we have a REAL choice to take to the voters.

That appears to be the situation in my neck of the woods, and I plan on campaigning against Doc Hastings, my worthless Congressscum. If he wins the primary, I will vote Dem. I would rather be stabbed in the front then the back. Voting for RINOs gets you Democrat policies. There is no doubt on this subject now.

Let’s make the RINOs leave. They are the ones who are poor stewards, they are the ones who can’t be trusted. We will ask them, we will tell them, and if that does not work, come election day, WE WILL MAKE THEM LEAVE, even if it means voting Dem.

Its ugly, and we are fighting a war on 3 fronts: the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, and the media. Sarah Palin represents the message. She cannot become a target or else the message gets washed in static, and we lose again.

whatever the committee, made up of elected congresscritters and senators comes up with, gets a straight up or down vote. That's it.

First of all there isn't a single American voter who has anything to do with those elected for the committee of 12...they will be appointed by the leader of the House and Senate.....I am certain those who have NOT been appointed to this are not happy a committee determines what's going to be cut and then attempt to get a vote on 'their' choices. That's pure treasonous to 'all' the members of congress.

Furthermore the Tea party Representation is completely out of the loop as they are not given a position with the 12.

This government had over two years to sit down and get this done the right way...they ALL said no. Now their passing the buck to a committee to determine what they should be determining is cut.

No matter how you paint your view of the operation principles of this government....that structure has been destroyed and no longer operates as such.

Even the Tea Party caucus drank the kool-aid. The dissenting voices have been very muted in their criticism of Boehner, McConnell and the deal. This was another deal where it was “understood” that some members had to vote No to give themselves political cover, knowing that the deal would pass, in exchange for the no votes pulling in their fangs during media interviews. Sickening status quo.

I was looking at the actual bill and found the following increases enumerated in it. I also found the debt increase for this year, alone, can be $1.8 trillion. The following table shows the ADDITIONAL spending authorized in the bill for each year.

In $ Trillions 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021
Total  $1,936 $2,107 $2,319 $2,570 $2,668 $2,854 $2,899 $2,945 $2,992 $3,039
Social Security $623 $751 $924 $1,123 $1,166 $1,309 $1,309 $1,309 $1,309 $1,309
Health and Human Services $270 $299 $329 $361 $395 $414 $434 $454 $475 $496
Discretionary Spending $1,043 $1,057 $1,066 $1,086 $1,107 $1,131 $1,156 $1,182 $1,208 $1,234

Amen! I agree with every word.

Sort of a 'fundamental transformation' back to the principles on which this country was founded. :)

“. Spending cuts with no tax increases. Cuts to the Democrat’s favorite socialist programs. What Tea Party-er could disagree with that?”

Does about 2% of what needs to be done.

“Congratulations to Boehner for a job well done. Now we elect a Republican President and Senate, then finish the job.”

Yup, 2% done, 98% of the job left unfinished. Yippee!
