OK, now when will the Senate vote?

Or have they already, and I am befuddled by all the votes?

people who vote for republicans are just as stupid as those who vote for obama

Guess that makes me pretty stupid.
I'll probably be just as stupid if Palin runs and gets the nomination. It's not the party it's the people.

Of course I never got the opportunity to vote for or against most of the schmucks in dc.

We’re somewhere between Chapters 13 and 15.

He was referring to senators with whom he was having conversations.

Thanks again.
So, the filibuster is still a possibility?

This is a fantastic bill. Spending cuts with no tax increases. Cuts to the Democrat’s favorite socialist programs. What Tea Party-er could disagree with that?

Congratulations to Boehner for a job well done. Now we elect a Republican President and Senate, then finish the job.

In my oppinion, people who vote for republicans are just as stupid as those who vote for obama.

Unfortunately, those not voting for Republicans are voting for Obama.

Is that where you fit in, Terry? Did you enable the election of Obama by either sitting out or voting for someone whom you knew would lose?

What we have to do is vote for more conservative Republicans. It's obvious from this vote that we need a whole lot more principled conservatives in Congress. A whole lot more....

We got the ball rolling in 2010, and need to take it to the next level in 2012. We need more Tea Party people in both houses, and most, if not all of them will be running as Republicans.

Lots of us thought we had some new Congressmen with spine and principle. No. We have a new crop of Republican weasels. What good is a vote when most of your new congressmen turn around and give you the finger as soon as they take their seats? They get rich in two years and lose their elections. The new guy so full of principle and promise sees that it is better to get rich and be popular for two years than to work for his constituents or the good of the nation. After two years, if h e loses his seat, he gets hired by the sponsors he fed with special legislation and stays rich. he doesn’t really need the congress job any more. If he instead holds to principle and demonstrates spine he doesn’t get rich. It is a matter of incentive and character. There is plenty of incentive and most people’s character is for sale, especially politicians.

No. The Senate eneterd a unanimous consent agreement that it would not use any delay tactic as to taking the vote.

You would actually prefer that the Dem controlled House continue to ramrod through a far left agenda with no controls whatsoever?

Seriously?? That's what you want?

In spite of this vote, there have been gains already in just a few months that would not have been possible without November's election.

The consequences of having no Tea Partiers in Congress would have been diabolical.

Seriously, have many of you check into moving outside of this country?

I was born here and I'll die here.
One way or another.

Lousy bill. Bush tax cuts expire. Obamacare tax increases arrive. Credit limit maxed so Obama doesn't have to worry about it during his campaign for 2012. "Cuts" are all phoney. Simply reduced increases.

So what chapter are we on now on Atlas Shrugged?

Hmm, not sure, but probably somewhere around the start of the second section (of the three) of the book...

Big question is WHERE does one go to just be left alone? Where does one go to work, raise a family, retire, etc without paying 70+ percent in taxes (and including all state and fed and local taxes, it is getting darn close to 60% for those of us who pay taxes).

Where does one go to make/sell/buy their wares, food, etc. without permitting, inspections, etc.? Geez, we can’t sell veggies out of our garden and our kids cannot sell lemonade without a permit!

If I didn’t like technology and creature comforts so much, I would say I was born in wrong century!
