I am waiting for those so called patriot freepers who think it great to reduce the punch of our weapons inventories meant to protect soldiers from harm

It’s OK, Admiral Mullen and the generals have our soldiers back... oh, wait, not... except for gay rights of sex in the military, that is.

There really are not that many savings to be had by “bringin the troops home”. You have to base them somewhere and we lose the advantage of forward deployment.

My guess is this will begin some VERY interesting conflict along the lines stated below. Do we cut military strenghth and benefits while continuing to fund Americorps; the Peace Corps; The Legal Services Administration, the separate endowments for Arts and Humanities; bureaucrats who are ‘employed’ in the Commerce, Education & Energy departments? How about all of the Monica Lewinsky type positions througout the services. Let the debate begin.

Well, I guess we won’t have to worry about the military turning on it’s own people when King Hussein gives the command.

True, but are they Americans? NO. Therefore, American soldiers need not defend them.

Believe me if we weren’t there they would have “solved” the problem of N Korea many years ago.

Its unbelievable how these illegals are receiving SSI checks. I’d like to know how they are able to pull that off.

If I need to adopt a squad and make sure they have bullets and bread, I’ll do it.

Well said, they are already talking about cutting my civilian job, hardly one of those six figure civilian service jobs you hear about. Most of those are inside the Beltway. So all I will have is my retirement after 32 years of combined Reserve and active duty. How they will attack us is to make us pay for more health coverage, and not give us annual COLA increases. They cannot cut our retirement pay, but than can limit or prevent any annual increases which results in a DOD savings, at leas that is the way it was explained to me. So while as it cost more to live our retirements are worth less. They are already changing policies to force service member out before they are retirement eligible. Prevent war-fighters from ever getting anything from the service. They will have to fight for benefits from the VA like the Vietnam vets are forced to do.

Yes but California is in his camp and Texas is not.

Ergo, “All my cuts live in Texas...”

Well, he has to do something to knock red state Texas down to size, you know.

This would be a great time for Perry to be a REAL Texan and have the legislature vote to seceed with the promise that he’d sign it.

Whitehouse/congress is trying to get 3 billion in total cuts. One billion is counted when Irac and Afghaistan is over. Next billion is in social secuity. The third Billion is in the Pentagon. Hope this helps.

Yes they do. The one world plan has been to outsource manufacturing and other jobs. Then lower the standard of living of Americans to more equally merge them into a one world system. This has been planned from the beginning, long ago with the IMF, WTO NAFTA/GATT trade liberalization treaties. The military should be out in the street just like Occupy. If they knew the truth, they would be.

The proposed cuts are in the hands of the twelve member Super Committee so that congress will not be blamed when the cuts do down! If the S.C. cannot agree to cuts, the cuts go into effect automatically. I wish the mmilitary would fight this stuff! The military always fights for the one world government people, but not for the people of their own country or themselves. Now seems like as good a time as any to stand up and be counted.
