Obama @ Fundraiser: "We're Not Even Halfway There Yet" - "Change" Doesn't Mean Change Tomorrow ...

"It's been a long, tough journey. But we have made some incredible strides together. Yes, we have. But the thing that we all ought to remember is that as much as good as we have done, precisely because the challenges were so daunting, precisely because we we were inheriting so many challenges, that we're not even halfway there yet. When I said 'change we can believe in' I didn't say 'change we could believe in tomorrow.' Not change we can believe in next week. We knew this was going to take time because we've got this big, messy, tough democracy," President Obama said at a campaign fundraiser in Chicago on Wednesday night.

I am sitting here tying to think of the great strides he has made, and all I can think of is the debt, and Obama care which will add to the debt.
Can anyone think of great stride Obama has made? He is in the process of turning out military queer and cutting off their funds, he has fudged up the definition of marriage, he has let illegals run free, he has antagonised most all of our allies and is bombing Libya and losing.

Then he mentions all of the good he has done. Can anyone think of anything? Mental deficients , some of them paid $3800 dollars to listen to this spouting of unadulterated Manure.

we're not even halfway there yet.

That certainly is a heads up call to hold on to your hats folks...the ride isn't over yet and he's not finished! I suspect we haven't seen nothing yet for what is to come.

I just wish it was over so we could get back to being America again....will there be one left by the time he's finished? I wonder sometimes because there isn't a whole lot of it left already!

“we’re not even halfway there yet.”

This just makes me cringe. Secret meetings with union leaders, the new acorn in reconstituted fine shape....

"Change" Doesn't Mean Change Tomorrow ...

It means Marxist transformation.

"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.

The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."

A Landslide Mandate For Change

A breakthrough election
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

Change is Here, Change is Coming

Sam Webb, National Chair, Communist Party, USA:

Let me begin with a simple observation: If the last 30 years were an era of reaction, then the coming decade could turn into an era of reform, even radical reform. Six months into the Obama presidency, I would say without hesitation that the landscape, atmosphere, conversation, and agenda have strikingly changed compared to the previous eight years.

In this legislative session, we can envision winning a Medicare-like public option and then going further in the years ahead.

We can visualize passing tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry, which brought the economy to ruin.

We can imagine the troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan while U.S. representatives participate in a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region.

In the current political climate, the expansion of union rights becomes a real possibility.

Much the same can be said about winning a second stimulus bill, and we sure need one, given the still-rising rate, and likely long term persistence, of unemployment.

Isn’t it possible in the Obama era to create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and other sectors of the economy in tandem with an attack on global warming?

Can’t we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?

And isn’t the overhaul of the criminal justice and prison system – a system steeped in racism – no longer pie-in-the sky, but something that can be done in the foreseeable future?

All these things are within reach now!

Predictions of a billion dollar campaign have been tossed around.

With this sort of money flying around during elections...we the people have truly lost our country.

You know I’ve run out of words describing this guy! I think I’ve used every one that’s know and some that aren’t! Some people just plain defy the english language....he’s at the top of that list for what he has done and will continue to do to this country.

I sometimes wonder if Putin weren’t a communist he’d likely do a better job for the US than the one we have. Never in my life would I have thought our President could be as we’ve seen in this one.

We're not even halfway there yet.

He's always saying that; we're going to get there, we're not halfway there, but we'll get there. He never says what the hell is "There." I suspect that "there" is whatever pie-in-the-sky utopian dream is in the mind of each supporter. That way, he never has to tell them exactly what he plans to do.

Sheeple, all of them, following a pied piper.
