“It is like sticking a knife in Israel’s heart” (Honduras advocates recognition of Palestine at UN)
El Heraldo (Inter American Security Watch) ^ | August 3rd, 2011 | IASW

Ambassador Lopez stated that the head of the Honduran Armed Forces and the Defense minister are currently in Israel acquiring equipment that is needed by the institution.

Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Israel’s ambassador to Honduras said yesterday that the decision of the government of Honduras to advocate for the recognition of Palestine at the United Nations (UN) is like “sticking a knife in the heart of the people and government of Israel “.

The diplomat offered these statements from Israel to Telenoticias. It was learned that the ambassador was in his country due to “consultations” he is making with his government after learning that Honduras would support Palestine. “We do not understand a decision of this nature. Israel was the only country that supported the people and government of Honduras in 2009.

I personally spent three months in Honduras to support the people and the government. I was in the elections to endorse the people and its government. We do not understand this unilateral decision that was not even consulted with us,” he said.

My post is accurate and that is why you are emotional. I think I did a pretty good job.

I think I did a pretty good job.

You can think whatever you want. I am not "emotional", but I am a long time supporter of Honduras, a longer time supporter of Israel and a native Texan who loves freedom lovers and hates Dictators/Oppression.

This is very disappointing. Honduras was standing very tall after dealing with Zelaya, 0bama, Hillary and Chavez like the dirtbags they are. Honduras, you’re not thinking clearly on this.

Yes, or they are being blackmailed by Obozo’s minions.

I do not fault the Honduran citizens, but am having doubts about some of their leadership. Does that sound familiar?

Loads of pressure has been put on Honduras and not just by the U.S. BTW are the sanctions the U.S. put on them still in place?

I am not sure. What I have read is that they are not, but the Obots are still refusing to allow those officials who defied him to come to the U.S. I am sure if there are no official sanctions that Der Hilderbeast and Obozo's other foreign policy folks are still making life miserable for them.

The 0bama Regime is totally a thugocracy isn’t it? I don’t think even FDR was as heavy handed. FDR sure wasn’t as blatant about it.

“Love me some Israel but sheesh they act like they are so weak and needy. Can’t they just be like other countries and not cry baby about everything. So what if a country does like them. This has to be the biggest cry baby country on Earth. Thank God America doesn’t act like them.”

I really don’t know what to say. Your statement seems to speak for itself. It just seems so incongruous in view of the information you’ve posted about yourself. Aty any rate, thanks, congratulations and have a great retirement.

Reading it a few days later, I wish I would not have been quite as dramatic about it. What I mean to say is that Israel has one of the strongest militaries on the planet with America on it’s side so with those attributes going for them, I guess I wish Israel would not show any weakness at all through complaining. Thank you for the kind thoughts. I can see why my post questioned me a bit. I just want Israel to show strength....that nothing bothers them or gets them down.
