Polygamy Meets Big Brother

Polygamy Meets Big Brother

The West Texas jury deciding the fate of polygamy cult leader Warren Jeffs listened through headphones to 21 minutes of heavy breathing yesterday. Some in the room wept. Others held their hands over their mouths. The X-rated recording, a cornerstone of the state’s child-sex-assault case, allegedly chronicled Jeffs’ encounter with a 12-year-old girl, an episode that ended with the self-proclaimed prophet declaring, “In Jesus Christ, amen.”

The jurors heard an almost inaudible voice. “Amen,” echoed the child.

It got worse. According to prosecutors, Jeffs and his new “celestial wife” were not alone. A dozen of his most trusted men were witnesses to the “sealing.” It was a family affair: At least one of Jeffs’ other wives, his purported favorite, Naomi, was also in the room. “What are you feeling?” Jeffs asked the girl. And in a moment that froze everyone in the courtroom, she answered meekly, “Very well, thank you.”

“... it’s amazing the tape was even found”.

Agreed but disturbing is why was the tape made and kept? Is it to listen to and ... relive those moments? Some sort of sick, twisted sexual thing?

Did you read further about the fLDS goons stalking the reporters and trying to keep a lid on the fLDS people?? Creepy, but I’ve read stories like this before. Flora Jessup, for one, has had several attempts on her life for speaking out.

“On this earlier tape, Jeffs asked twelve of his plural wives to disrobe as he gave them private training to be “heavenly comfort wives,” which appears to include group sex. “I need more than one wife to be with me at a time,” Jeffs’ told them. “The Lord has shown me that in heaven the gods are with quorums of women when they conceive children.”

So this is the excuse this man is using to have orgies with mothers and chldren. Horrid. Sounds like he has a real conflict with Jesus’ own words.

Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are mistaken, that you do not understand the Scriptures or the power of God? For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.”

I think I am between angry and sick to my stomach. I read a post about a child porn ring on the internet that showed clips of raping children/babies for its members. I guess that is how they get off. I can only imagine that this group viewing of “deflowering” is some sort of deviant sexual behavior. Reminds me of the descriptions of satanic masses...

One thing one of the reporters on HLN mentioned yesterday is that the man, uh, “pleasures himself” constantly in jail. I guess one of the jail people leaked this info. So I’d guess that were he out of jail, he’d be listening to those tapes like other perverts do, reliving those moments. He really needs to be permanently locked up. Some would like to see the death penalty, but that’s too easy.

Short Creek has a paranoia problem. Most every house is surrounded by elaborate walls, preventing prying eyes from watching scores of FLDS kids in prairie clothes as they jump on trampolines and play in the dirt. It’s not uncommon to see security cameras tucked into the eaves of the homes. The FLDS mob keeps electronic watch as well. One man had his computer hacked by church leadership.

Somehow, because of invoking religious freedom, these people are getting away with child abuse. A lot of people didn't even know this was going on in the U.S.

I’s so sick of hearing how in other cultures and other times.... yada, yada, yada.

This is not other cultures and other times.

This is rape of a young girl by a perverted man old enough to be her grandfather in the name of God and religion.

It’s time to lay that vapid defense of sexuality for 12 year old girls to rest.

That is what entered my mind... the “excitement” of listening to the tape over and over (can you tell that we are being so careful with terminology?!). Personally, if he wants to “pleasure himself” in prison, it is too bad that he isn’t “helped out” with a friend name Bubba. If he is into “groups watching”... I am sure that some of the other prisoners can assist him with this need.

It’s not very Christian of me, but at times I do hope he gets to experience what these children were forced to experience. And it’s really not just Jeffs. If you read about others who have escaped, there’s a lot of this going on—some fathers routinely rape their daughters. In one of the books I read, the author (can’t remember which book now) suggested—halfway jokingly—that the reason Jeffs has to “marry” them so young is because if he needs a virgin, he has to get to them before their fathers do. The entire culture is sick beyond description.

You know, God has been dealing with me about forgiving others which I am working on.

But this is just beyond my capacity to forgive. The rapes aside, as horrendous as they are, all that is going on in this cult in the name of God, defaming Him that way is adding insult to injury.

If anyone comes up with a *May God have mercy on his soul* comment, I’ll have to fight beating them senseless.

This is so demonic.

That’s something I need to work on, too. Hard to forgive some things.

He tries to sound so holy, but for anyone who’s read the Bible, he’s anything but.

I’ say Greg Abbott and Eric Nichols have created an environment today where that would be more politically acceptable - than when Oprah was droning on about their ‘wholesome’ lives, beautiful hair and good old fashioned home made bread.

That disgraceful show of Oprah’s exposed her for the hypocrite she is. Lots of others share her disgrace, too.

Warren Jeffs Rests His Case
Posted: 12:48 PM ET

With less than an hour of arguments today from Warren Jeffs, the polygamist sect leader on trial for sexual assault silently rested his case. This comes after a bizarre day of testimony yesterday.

Day 5 of the TX v Warren Jeffs trial began with Warren Jeffs, asking for what he calls Constitutional protection based upon his belief that he represents a religious organization. His request was immediately denied.

During testimony, the prosecution established how Warren Jeffs married a 12-year-old girl who is the daughter of one of his followers. The child was watched over by Jeffs most of her life. Public records show the jury learned that Jeffs was involved in assigning jobs for the Jessop family and was the principle at Alta Academy, the FLDS school the girl attended.
