I don’t think this has anything to do with rumors. The market is simply reacting to various bits of dismal news about the U.S. economy that have come out over the last few weeks.
The really sad thing for me is that it tells me where they get their news and what that news is saying. It amazes me in this information age that with so many choices those folks keep going to those alphabet news feeding stations for their daily propaganda.
Can they not do simple math? Don't they know that a 14 trillion debt growing to a 17 trillion debt is not a cut in spending? If they were 14 thousand in debt last year and 17 thousand in debt this year, don't you think they'd see they were going backward?
Does saying "trillion" suddenly mean the rules of math change?
