(CBS/AP) KABUL, Afghanistan - Insurgents shot down a U.S. military helicopter during fighting in eastern Afghanistan, killing 30 Americans, most of them belonging to the same elite unit as the Navy SEALs who killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, U.S. officials said Saturday. It was the deadliest single loss for American forces in the decade-old war against the Taliban.
CBS News correspondent David Martin reports that the dead include members of the Air Force and Army, but most of them were Navy SEALs from Team 6. In addition to the 22 SEALs killed, there were three other special operators, plus 5 crewmen. The group on the downed Chinook were a back-up force called in by another team which had run into trouble when it hit the target of a special raid. The lead team called for help and the Chinook was coming in when it was shot down.
The downing, in which seven Afghan commandos were also killed, was a stinging blow to the lauded, tight-knit SEAL Team 6 months after its crowning achievement. It was also a heavy setback for the U.S.-led coalition as it begins to draw down thousands of combat troops fighting what has become an increasingly costly and unpopular war.

If it were SEALs or Team 6, why would that be in the news at present? Generally, it would not be revealed for months or years, if ever at all.
I was thinking about that today, I was going to describe some of their losses to my ex-helicopter crew chief (ASW), brother, and ask him if he would serve with them if he had the chance (theoretically).
That's true - in fact, the entire osama operation should never have been revealed either. The most the general public should have known was there was a helicopter crash in pakistan.

White women that are single women is a heck of a different category than “white women”, it seems like a long way to go for a category, if you are going to do that then you may as well throw in the Catholic vote.
Obama starts with an in-built advantage: He has CA, NY, MA, WA, CT, DE, IL, in the bag even before the campaign begins.
His bedrock constituency are unionists; GLTB; Hollywood, Blacks, Single white females; high school-college grads (18-29); Jews, Muslims, Hindus, NARAL, NEA, La Raza, ACLU members, Journalists; and non-taxpayers. This crowd alone makes for 45% of the modern electorate.
That’s a category that Gallup uses.
I would say that Catholics voting for Obama is of more concern than single white women that haven’t married yet.
Of course- but single white women (unmarried, separated, divorced, or widowed) would include CINOs as well.
When you are mentioning Hindus and Muslims and Jews, then you would be better off mentioning that the Catholics vote Obama also.
Biting my nails and I never do this. Need names of the SEAL’s. I have many friends in certain units and a cousin in____damun, prayers up for the fallen, their families, friends, loved ones. I’m sorry to be selfish. I hope to God it’s not_________, too much death lately, I’d be crushed if he’s dead.
