For the pubs to have reaching-across-the-aisle McCain on MTP as ersatz spokesnoid for the party is beyond stupid. Although I’ll allow that they are probably all huddled and were blindslapped by the Friday announcement about the debt ceiling.
McCain, who never met a camera he didn’t adore, agreed to amble on screen and pretend he speaks for anybody for it is just pretense.
Now is the time for the pubs to come out swinging. Because while the American public can be easily fooled from time to time as they carry this country on their backs whilst raising the citizens of the morrow and fighting America’s wars, it’s gonna be damn hard to convince them that anybody else but Obamer owns that downgrade of the debt rating.
I think the midnight oil is burning in the WH and Valerie Jarrett’s serving Jamaican mojitos and assuring everyone it’s under control, that they have John Kerry on MTP handling their side of things, that they need only catch their breaths and plan a campaign to blame it all on the pubs.
She assures the WH jesters that OBamer’s bus tour is still on and that they will get through tomorrow’s likely stock plunge.
Only, I assert, they won’t. This is one huge nail in OBamer’s coffin.

True but I like very much the idea you don't have to guess what he is really saying or thinking. He puts it right out there...and that I can respect even if I maight disagree.
I do agree with the idea that if you tell Americans the truth they can deal with it..... What creates such fractions and uncertainty is when lies are presented as truth...and worse ...when only partial truths are given for political gain.

The best way to explain this debt thing is with Dave Ramsey’s example.
A person with a credit card who owes $300,000 in credit card debt on an income of $50,000 per year. He is currently charging an additional $90,000 per year and wants to keep doing so.
These numbers are the same proportion as the debt/income/deficit ratio of our federal government. People can understand these numbers. When you get to billions and trillions they do not register in most people’s comprehension.
Also, we need graphs and charts for visuals with every appearance. Show the escalating debt. Show th increase in joblessness.
Finally, quit allowing people to think that raising taxes on rich people will solve this. Bill Whittle had an excellent video on YouTube (probably still there) which shows that we could confiscate ALL of the wealth (including real estate, art, etc.) of every milllionaire in the country, including buffet, Gates, Hollywood, pro-football players, etc. and it would get us through ONE YEAR. Then who are we going to attack?
You can see the Socialistic mindset in both Madcow and Ghoullsssbeeee come out when tax cuts which stimulate the economy and yield far more tax revenue is brought up.
Concepts like that are diametrically opposed to Socialism and the hard left will never embrace them.

I just saw where S&P has suddenly changed their tune. THey have now issued a new statement saying that if Congress had simply given Obama a clean bill to raise the debt ceiling with no spending cuts, then Treasury notes wouldn’t have been downgraded. Does anyone have a link to this?
