Rebels in the western Libyan town of Zliten were said to be low on ammunition and on the defensive on Sunday, as the regime said its forces had retaken the strategic southwest town of Bir Ghanam.

Abdul Wahab Melitan, a rebel spokesman in the port city of Misrata near Zliten, said forces loyal to strongman Moamer Kadhafi had launched an assault on rebel positions in Zliten's Souk Telat area, killing three and wounding 15.

"The rebels lack ammunition to advance and we do not want to risk losing any ground," Melitan said.

Meanwhile, a rebel source at Al-Qusbat, around 90 kilometres (55 miles) east of the capital Tripoli, said that town was living through its fourth day under siege.

I never thought I would root for Gadaffi.
This thing is beyond stupid. He had finally been contained and was even a pipeline of cooperation.

All he was doing was strutting around with hot chicks.
Just why is this war necessary?

"The Gadhafi regime’s central bank — unlike the U.S. Federal Reserve, which is owned by private shareholders — was among the few central banks in the world that was entirely state-owned. At the moment, it is unclear exactly who owns the rebel’s central bank or how it will be governed."

The rebels have a central bank?

Here is my theory and its based on nothing but my observation of how the international crowd works.

UN, NATO weenies declare justice must be done.
UN, NATO weenies spend 15 to 20 years boondoggling on Mediterranean beaches bringing international justice once the shooting stops.

“I never thought I would root for Gadaffi.”

Wild, isn’t it?

But who thought we would ever have a bisexual, Leninist Moslem as President of the United States?

GourmetDan has a great link about the central bank.
since then, they’ve been recognized, and given 30 billion.

Libya Rebels Get Formal Backing, and $30 Billion

The move gives the rebels access to $30 billion in frozen Libyan assets in the United States and increases pressure on Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi to resign.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2757936/posts
“The State Department has signed off on papers that allow the Libyan Embassy in Washington to reopen under control of the opposition Transitional National Council and give staffers access to roughly $13 million in mission assets that had been frozen.”

...but the Rebels are still losing ground.
so i’m betting that with the Italian crisis on top of Greece and Portugal, that EUROPE collapses before Gaddafi.

NATO has seized Gaddafi's assets in European banks and has promised to use it to buy arms for the rebels.

Unfortunately the UN's Agenda 21 prohibits selling arms and ammunition to civilians.

0bama dismisses criticism of NATO efforts in Libya saying "NATO forces are dazed not weak."
