Vice President Biden is slated to deliver the keynote address at a Las Vegas energy summit hosted by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) later this month.
The fourth annual National Clean Energy Summit will also feature remarks from Center for American Progress President John Podesta, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus and California Gov. Jerry Brown (D), among others.
The Obama administration has proven time and again it understands the importance of building a competitive 21st-century economy through clean energy investments and policies that are focused on putting people back to work, reducing costs for consumers and eliminating our nations dependence on oil and unsustainable energy sources, Reid said in a statement touting Bdens decision to speak at the Aug. 30 event.
The summit is sponsored by Reid, the Center for American Progress, the Clean Energy Project, MGM Resorts International and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
Is this from the Onion ?
Biden--a clown and a maroon.
Grrr. Root for a power failure.
The only thing he knows about energy policy is that Amtrak
named a bar car after him!
I would love it if we could get a bunch of people to demonstrate at their talk and chant Drill Here, Drill Now! Tjese communists want to destroy the US.
Communism is alive and well in the United States of America.
Just consider the significance of any group in that the
best they can do is have Joe Biden as their keynote speaker.
He wants energy prices to "necessarily skyrocket" to impoverish and starve the peasants so he and his ruling-class swells can live in the pristine Walden paradise that is their birthright.
I assume Scranton Joe is riding LameTrak out there to minimize his carbon footprint, no?
The Cracked Head Club on Tour!
Why do I believe this energy Conference will be one-sided.
Straight out of an Ayn Ramd novel.
Straight out of an Ayn Ramd novel.
Holy mackerel. This really is a Communist Clown Congress.
Joe Biden, John Podesta, Steven Chu, Ray Mabus, and Jerry Brown (D), “among others.”
I would imagine that those “others” are all chips off the same block.
And where’s Al Gore?
Captain of the Keystone Cops!
Not one bit about solving energy problems or building profitable businesses.
100% about using the government to suck money from the unwilling masses under the threat of imprisonment for non-compliance.
I just got the highlights of this Energy Summit:
>How to ensure that half of Americans are riding bikes to work by 2025
>Horse and Buggy - Going forward by going backward
>Windmills for the family farmer - What the Dutch never told us
>How gun ownership is causing the price of oil to rise
>Religion and the Middle East - The case against Christianity in OPEC
I think there is more...
They will all make the trip in their Chevy Volts...so the meeting will be delayed....could be up to a week depending on charging times.
The Recovery Act invests billions to modernize our electric grid and to enhance the security and reliability of energy infrastructure. It also provides competitive funding for geothermal technologies, biomass research and development, and advanced battery manufacturing. These are the types of clean energy resources that can help cost-effectively reduce our inefficient use of dirty fossil fuels, and through the electrification of our transportation sector, reduce our addiction to oil.
I was pleased to help ensure the legislation included long-term extensions of the solar investment tax credit and eliminated the previous cap on that credit for residential solar electric systems. These kinds of incentives are imperative for protecting our economic, energy and national security. They make solar electric panels more accessible for the average homeowner and help businesses tap into the American innovative spirit, create jobs and build sustainable economic growth, and will speed the development of Nevadas and the Wests abundant solar, wind, and geothermal resources.
The Recovery Act also helps Nevada families permanently reduce their energy costs by providing over $38 million in weatherization funding. Reducing our energy usage by making our homes more energy efficient not only creates jobs, but it can also save families 32% on their overall energy bills, putting money back in their pockets to spend on other priorities. Examples of the dozens of renewable energy projects that are benefiting Nevada include:
Nevada Unemployment Rate 12.4%
Maybe Luigi Ferraris will speak.
No balanced approach here, I guess. /s
