SAN ANGELO Tears flowed from witnesses brought to testify against Warren Jeffs on Saturday.
The 55-year-old leader of the polygamy-sanctioning Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints wasn't present when the man and woman struggled with emotions on the witness stand.
After being convicted of two counts of sexual assault of a child Thursday, with girls 12 and 15 years old, Jeffs has chosen to remain out of the courtroom and has reluctantly let attorney Deric Walpole represent him.
"He stole my innocence," the woman on the stand said of Jeffs, almost unable to speak as she fought back tears and gasped for breath.
"I didn't know I was supposed to tell him no."
Jeffs sexually assaulted her when she was about 8 years old, the witness said.

From the article posted above:
Other documents shown to the jury include proclamations from Warren Jeffs threatening governments with pestilence, famine and earthquakes if they did not stop prosecuting members of the FLDS.
Personally, I consider the fLDS to be a form of pestilence in and of itself.
How/why did it go on so long??
Because too many people were fooled by how “wholesome” the women and kids looked when they were whisked away from the fLDS. Many demanded they be returned to their parents, regardless of the fact that many didn’t even know who their parents were, since Jeffs regularly took one man’s family and assigned them to another man, etc. (The in-breeding alone must be just awful.) Many freepers, in fact, considered this to be just another case of the government moving in on “innocent” people on the basis of religion.
It wasn’t.
They were trying to stop massive, institutionalized child abuse, along with other crimes.
Being shackled & having to shuffle when he walks must be making Warren furious. I suppose he better get the hang of it because it looks like that is how its going to be from now on.
“Many freepers, in fact, considered this to be just another case of the government moving in on innocent people on the basis of religion.”
Sadly. Those discussions, where people asserted the groups innocence based on absolutely nothing, were a definite low-point. Anyone who’s interested could probably find them archived, but a large number of Freepers were definitely on the wrong side of that one.
Notice Rebecca Musser,a former member of the church and a witness for the prosecution is wearing a red blouse.
Red was banned for the church members by Jeffs.
Jeffs is a sexual predator, not a religious man
The instructions also called for the bed to be sturdy enough to not rattle if it shook.
For a guy who thinks it's within his purview to curse all of North America and now he's picking on South America (LeBarons) he can't command one temple bed to be quiet?
Those horrible things happened to Brent and his niece when WSJ was only in charge of the Alta Academy and his father was still ‘prophet.’ According to his ‘confession’ it seems Rulon Jeffs called his hand on some of his behavior.
If he was that depraved then, imagine how much more sadistic his behavior became when he assumed the position of ‘prophet’ with no one to hold his behavior in check and he had an entire cadre of women and children sequestered at YFZ and Short Creek?
Have all the wives and children been notified of his conviction yet? They need to know...
Sad to say, if they are hearing anything it's that he's being persecuted because they are not faithful enough.
Very sad. But if you were to tell them, they wouldn't believe you. It's complete brain washing at it's very worst.
I'm hoping for more indictments...soon.
On HLN one afternoon, they were talking about how the members of the fLDS are not even allowed to talk to the news, watch the news—nothing—Jeffs told them it will damn them to h*ll. Flora Jessup was on, and said she is going to try to get in to talk to them, but you could tell that even with her resolve, she knows she might have a hard time getting in, and even then, making them believe her.
