NBC San Diego ^ | Tuesday, Aug 9, 2011 | Lindsay Hood |

Posted on 08/09/2011 3:54:57 PM PDT by moonshinner_09

At the age of 21, Sergio has an undying love of politics. He has already interned for two state lawmakers and hopes to pursue a career in politics. He plans to commit himself to changing his community, but there is one catch: Sergio is in the country illegally; he can’t even vote.

"It is something that I am really passionate about, but because of my position, it gets really frustrating," Sergio said.

A student at San Diego State University, Sergio graduated from San Diego High School with a 4.3 GPA and entered SDSU with a full, privately funded scholarship.

You know, I’d prefer to give these willing kids the access to education than the morons across this country who piss away their education. At least these hard-working kids will contribute to our great society versus the thugs who will end up in jail or be a cancer to the country at large. My two cents.

Why do you assume that they are hard working? He is “working” as an intern in Sacramento.

Well, maybe he won't vote with that identity....but I'm sure he and his family have several other identities that are registered to vote....and are also riding the US gravy train.

Illegal Jose Madrigal, the Washington state rapist, had some 30 identities.

Oakland Police Dept Mug Shot: Mishel Caviness, Hayward, accused of
running a large-scale operation devoted to stealing people's identities.

HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA -- A Hayward woman has been charged with numerous felony counts for allegedly running an identity-theft operation that created fake Social Security and California identification cards, checks and credit cards. Mishel Caviness, 40, was arrested after an investigation by Oakland police and the U.S. Secret Service.

The probe began when an Oakland city employee reported in January that someone was fraudulently cashing her checks, according to police Officer Ryan Goodfellow and court records. Caviness was identified with the help of surveillance-camera footage from Bay Area stores, police said.

A search of her apartment on the 21000 block of Foothill Boulevard in Hayward last week uncovered a printing operation capable of making fake checks and credit cards, police said. Also found were 900 blank credit cards, personal information belonging to as many as 1,000 people, blank checks and computers, police said.

Alameda County prosecutors charged Caviness with forgery, identity theft, forgery of a driver's license and grand theft. She has a previous conviction for welfare fraud and told police that she is disabled and unemployed. She is being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in lieu of $325,000 bail.

Sergio’s fellowships, both of which awarded a $3000 stipend, were administered by two private non-profit organizations, the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project and the Equality California Institute, and were funded by Comcast, which owns this website and television station.

another good reason to not have Comcrap.

A student at San Diego State University, illegal alien and intern,
Sergio, entered SDSU with a full, privately funded scholarship.

Private scholarship? That's a joke. Betcha this kid and his family are riding the US
gravy train under several identities. Wonder how many govt checks they all are cashing?

Somebody oughta obtain Sergio's email and cell phone records to determine when he gets his orders from Mexico.

Dollars to donuts our tax dollars are subsidizing this parasite. For example:

La Raza Funding Skyrockets After Obama Hires La Raza VP
Judicial Watch | June 17, 2011
FR Posted on Friday, June 17, 2011 by jazusamo

A Judicial Watch investigation reveals that federal funding for a Mexican La Raza group that for years has raked in millions of taxpayer dollars has skyrocketed since one of its top officials got a job in the Obama White House. The influential and politically-connected National Council of La Raza (NCLR) has long benefitted from Uncle Sam’s largess but the group has made a killing since Obama hired its senior vice president (Cecilia Muñoz) in 2009 to be his director of intergovernmental affairs.

Ignored by the mainstream media, Judicial Watch covered the appointment because the president issued a special “ethics waiver” to bring Muñoz aboard since it violated his own lobbyist ban. At the pro illegal immigration NCLR, Muñoz supervised all legislative and advocacy activities on the state and local levels and she was heavily involved in the congressional immigration battles that took place in the George W. Bush Administration.

She also brought in a steady flow of government cash that’s allowed the Washington D.C.-based group to expand nationwide and promote its leftist, open-borders agenda via a network of community organizations dedicated to serving Latinos.Among them are a variety of local groups that provide social services, housing counseling and farm worker assistance as well as publicly-funded charter schools that promote radical Chicano curriculums. Judicial Watch published a special report on this a few years ago.

This week a JW probe has uncovered details of the alarming increase in federal funding that these NCLR groups have received since Muñoz joined the Obama Administration.

In fact, the government cash more than doubled the year Muñoz joined the White House, from $4.1 million to $11 million. Not surprisingly, a big chunk of the money (60%) came from the Department of Labor, which is headed by a former California congresswoman (Hilda Solis) with close ties to the La Raza movement. Since Obama named her Labor Secretary, Solis has launched a nationwide campaign to protect illegal immigrant workers in the U.S.

Just this week Solis penned declarations with Guatemala and Nicaragua to preserve the rights of their migrants. The NCLR also received additional taxpayer dollars from other federal agencies in 2010, the JW probe found. The Department of Housing and Urban Development doled out $2.5 million for housing counseling, the Department of Education contributed nearly $800,000 and the Centers for Disease Control a quarter of a million. Additionally, NCLR affiliates nationwide raked in tens of millions of government grant and recovery dollars last year thanks to the Muñoz factor. An offshoot called Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) saw its federal funding nearly double to $18.3 million following Muñoz’ appointment.

A social service and legal assistance organization (Ayuda Inc.) that didn’t receive any federal funding between 2005 and 2008 got $600,000 in 2009 and $548,000 in 2010 from the Department of Justice. The group provides immigration law services and guarantees confidentiality to assure illegal aliens that they won’t be reported to authorities.

These “hard working” kids know nothing about freedom or how to maintain it. In fact they are open border marxists that care nothing about the rule of law.

They get their scholarships paid with laundered taxpayer money courtesy of ethnic separatist organziations like La Raza, MALDEF and LULAC.

I think we can give the kid the benefit of the doubt, no? 4.3 GPA, however inflated it might be, indicates that he is studious and gives a crap about his education. That’s saying way more than most of the idiots we pass through our broken educational system today. That’s all I’m saying.

Yes but he is studying for a worthless degree in Political Science and not a more worthwhile subject like Engineering or Medicine. We do not need more Poly-Sci graduates looking for jobs.

Agreed with that. This is also why I’m in favor of more H1-B visas those in the science and technology fields. Doesn’t make sense to educate many of these brilliant people here and then chase them home to compete against us.

READ THE ARTICLE!

He's in school for cheap, he's getting money from pro-illegal forces, he's advising Cal. politicians on what illegals want to get from government, and he's brazen enough to brag on it but coward enough to have his identity masked.

Both the California university system and California's politicians think that's just dandy...That sure as hell isn't the way I went through college and my initial job search.

(Umm...spellcheck gave me a choice between politicians and polutions, tough call.)

… various paid fellowships, including two at the state Capitol with California State Assembly Members Tony Mendoza (AD-56) and Assembly Member Marty Block (AD-78).

I'm surprised they named names.
