Kurtz: Does Obama Support the London Riots?
Fox News and National Review ^ | 10 Aug 2011 | Stanley Kurtz

Posted on 08/10/2011 6:25:56 AM PDT by SkyPilot

I found the press release Obama issued to get Project Vote rolling, in the ACORN archives at the Wisconsin Historical Society. (Obama worked closely with ACORN on this campaign, his later denials notwithstanding.) The release quotes Obama explaining the need for Project Vote by pointing to the rioting in Los Angeles. Said Obama in 1992: “The Los Angeles riots reflect a deep distrust and disaffection with the existing power pattern in our society.” That’s Alinsky-speak for “We’ve got to use the power of the angry underclass to put capitalism in check.”

Naturally, we’ll continue to disagree about whether Obama’s leftist past was a convenient pose, or something that guides his policies to this day. I certainly don’t think President Obama would openly speak about events in London the way he spoke about the L.A. riots nineteen years ago. What he thinks to himself is another matter. Of course, a quick statement like this is much less important than the context provided by a systematic look at Obama’s overall political development. Nonetheless, direct quotes from Obama’s early political past are few and far between. This one is particularly intriguing.

The 2012 election year is going to make 1968 look like a church social.

They are taxing “the rich” and redistributing the wealth. But then they are showing personal initiative and cutting out the government middle man. Looting the rich, not relying on government. It’s a tough call.

The left hasn’t figured out how to use the London riots yet. They do t have a narrative or meme ready to use. They’ll come up with something.

Does baraq support the riots in England?

duh.

baraq has nothing but contempt for England.

When this comes here, he and holder will do nothing.

The baraq team and their media will be cheerleading the looting mobs.

I would agree with you except I've come to believe that our taker class has become far too lazy even to put down the Xbox, get off the couch and go out for a good riot.

The trouble when it comes will be the work of professionals. The purple-shirted thugs and Obama brown shirts from the former ACORN and Americorps.

The Left’s narrative on London is that it is a response to austerity budget cuts. That may work in England where some actual, real budget cuts have actually been made. The cuts are all phony here.

Oh, I certainly agree with that, and there's plenty of those to go around in the major urban areas, plus many of the x-boxers will be tempted to put their digital thuggery to practice for real, at least until they feel the reality of actual pain and inability to re-spawn after a real load of 2nd Amendment buckshot penetrates them.

With every action there is a reaction and Obama and the leftists will rue the day they bamboozled the voting public with the demonic, un-american fraud of a candidate. Unbridled constitutional conservatism arise!

Obama and his loose ‘team’ think so much in theoretical terms, that even they might be a little shocked at how the London riots are playing here and to the rest of the world.
I think he dearly “would have” liked to see and expected to see something like that here, to prove all his ideological points, and help spur a new round of socialist initiatives,
but to actually see it unfold in real time across the pond
is something he can’t quite process. It will be interesting to see if he even mentions it. Better that it happened there rather than here, he’s probably thinking. He probably believes he can suggest he’s made some half-assed success in so far AVERTING it from happening here, even though THAT is exactly where his disruptive policies are leading. However, it’s true to say that we HAVEN’T been subjected to the kind of austerity budget or threat of one that the Brits and other Europeans have.

There is a saying in Oklahoma ... “"it is like being in a Wewoka (a city) switch” ... which was a railroad center of turn arounds or some such ...

It really means two things ... and versions of those two things
I'm caught between a rock and a hard place, or I'm going in circles, or How do you get out here, and so forth.

That is sort of the dilemma the poor black people have got themselves in ... caught between taking the money ... or doing what the Asians usually do ... take the opportunities America offers get an education, start a business, and work hard. We have a part of society that have believed the money comes in the mail, and that do not work much, and has little ambition: often the children are drop puts, etc.

There are exceptions of course; but the majority get involved in drugs, or other nefarious activities. Few aspire to becoming an upstanding citizen, having their own business or activity producing their own income to live a good life MOO

Thus they can be used as Obama says ... an angry hurricane ready to blow ...

The opportunity is there ... somehow they do not see them or out of hand refuse them. Not the blacks only there are many others. Still we have destroyed the black family with our paying of money to single black women with children; and other entitlements. Shame on us.

Why did no one peep a word when Obama deleted the welfare reform Clinton and past Presidents did?

Welfare is: When someone is hungry, nearly starved giving them one cob of corn to eat instead of seeds and the knowledge to plant them. Why is it even today with the gov. push on education do we still see white and black people talking like they were not tought to read? Why is the hip hop ghetto culture promoted as cool and hip?
