Sigh.
Overreaching is a shortfall of some movements, true. However, a too-narrow focus is a greater threat. The Tea Party brings together a wide range of conservative-minded movements seeking to regain a sense of our Founding Fathers disgust at overbearing government mandates... and they weren’t all about taxes. Read the Declaration of Independence... “Taxation without Representation” became an easy battle cry... but there are far bigger fish to fry among their (and our) grievances. The tea was a symbol, not the issue.
Reducing the Tea Party to a tax revolt is robbing it of its soul and broader Constitutional mandate.
Did you watch the interview?
It appears that her remark was so innocuous, that even Santelli didn’t take offense to it. It wasn’t until AFTER he had gotten some emails that he even made any comment about it. Evidently, while listening to her in context (if he did) he was fine with it.
jmo, his reaction was to what those emailers “said” she said.

Santelli was not on the air when the ignorant comment was made. The confrontation came about 10 minutes later when Joe was about to end his segment with Santelli and Santelli was wondering why nobody asked him about the winches Tea Party comment. That is when he laid into her. It was another Santelli original moment.
What is not to like about being targeted by leftists for economic enslavement and diversity’s racist and sexist stereotypes and discrimination? White men are sure wierd! I can tell from the Tea Parties I have attended that there are no women there - only whitey men. /s/
She looks like a Meth addict.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
